@naryanrobinson: Stewart is very smart and as he's awoken as a human he's been less and less leftist and more logical. As that has happened like it did to Musk, Trump and so many others who started liberal and grew a brain he's become "evil".

Since all I hear about is representation and why we should care I'm supporting the cause by only watching shows that represent me.

No one was affected in the real world. You cannot have a meaningful strike when society doesn't actually need what you produce.

@Mraou: That's not the issue. It's these does the videogame tell my unique story that makes me feel empowered. The game could be pong and it would get a 10 if the little ship was a female protagonist. It's just reviews so colored politics, which is so pointless.

@j3diknightdave: Yikes this is a reddit response. So first investment is not just stocks and other things. By definition you can invest your time or money in anything you expect to return either monetary or some other value. I invest time and money into a video game. That's the correct use of all terms involved. You're trying to split, weird, semantic hairs in order to sound more intelligent. Value is what you get out of your investment (again this term does not apply only to investments that are aimed at returning a financial profit).

My guess is you've taken one to many business courses in college and are trying to get really precise about you industry's use of Price, Value, Investment etc. Investment is the commitment of some resource in order to gain a financial return or other future benefits or advantages. Buying any product while often an unwise investment if the only desire is financial return is fine if the desired outcome is future benefits or advantages.

With respect to your continued issues with keeping up with the Joneses your jealousy at another player's possessions and your indignant demand that its unfair you can't have these items without pay helps me understand the larger problem. You feel entitled, which is pretty normal in the American left. You aren't entitled and others are free to purchase what they like without your abuses or being tied down by your envy.

I'll probably leave the thread now too but I once in awhile touch back on these things. That said I think we just don't see eye to eye. I'm a personal responsibility type of guy. I don't feel entitled and I don't mind paying for something where I see value.

All the best

The announcer issue isn't on them, that's not fair. The NFL announcers aren't good anymore. You can't pick through terrible commentators and pick one and have a magically good team for the game. Honestly the only good announcer pair working right now is the Manning brothers. Though they may be too funny for the game.

Things they didn't touch:

The music is unbearable. Not just bad but some of the rappers, especially a few women have such annoying voices it actually adds to the difficulty level of minigames because its such a distraction.

Minigames go from simple to insanely hard. My 80 rb can score every carry. My 90s DE can't work his way through my very mid o-line and passing skeleton recievers do not catch passes if they are within reach of a defender.

I'd love to see Gamespot look at another team for their videos. These two just aren't engaging to me. This site in general is just getting less and less trustworthy. The was a time when a good review on here was a good as a guarantee. Now it feels like its reviewers own passion agendas buffing or debuffing scores.

@j3diknightdave: Do you not think of a game in terms of the value for the money. For instance this Venba cooking game cost about the same as playing games in an arcade at $20 for less than an hour of content. When I buy a $60 game I expect about 80-100 hours of enjoyable content without purchasing anything.

Of course the game has to deliver those hours with a ton of fun, some tense battles and/or some late game comebacks but that's a prerequisite of even being considered to play. Still I have no sense of how you can't think you got your money's worth with this $60 game.

I guess this is the question would you rather they didn't have any of the additional content available at all? I think believing it should all be available, and you should get it for free as they continuously add content for the next 3 years, suggests that you're "feeling the Bern" and there isn't anything you likely believe you should have to work for.

@j3diknightdave: They aren't preying on me. I'm nearing level 100 with my season one character having a great time. I've not spent one red cent after the initial purchase. The game is complete in its current state and needs no extra investment to have a great time. I don't know why you care so much about them making some extras available to those who care enough to spend real world money on them. For me I rate a game based on what I get when I buy it, without putting in extra. By that measure this game is still more than adequate and a solid investment in terms of how much I spend vs how much I play.

You can't force me to narrow my view and be offended by everything. I get that's the way of the world right now but I respect the hard days work the developer put in and I think that the game is solid without added content.

I feel like too many critics never played games in the 80's and it shows because they feel so entitled to a million add ons. I spent my youth where the game that dropped was the game. If it had glitches it had them forever. If it sucked it never got better. We're living in the golden age of both video games and civilization. Every person walking around today is better off than a king 100 years ago. Only someone deeply invested in being a victim could pretend anything about their life in 2023 is unfair.

@bthegamer: Sure but then why bother working hard to get one with no payoff. I feel like the opposite is true for Sony and Microsoft. If they had predicted wrong we'd have a bevy of games that were underselling because they launched only on the next gen. Microsoft and Sony actually launched almost no games for next gen, signaling at least higher ups were prepared for the market that came.
