HALF LIFE 2 is an overdose for FPS fans.
FEAR is a good REPLICA of HL2, but its not better than HALF LIFE2. Being a doom lover since the DOOM, what made me leave this game aside after one run , is its plot, copy of HL tactics (medstation etc ) , lack of surprises,A very Gigantic Villian to beat with pea shooters, some minor gameplay problems and having a TORCH in one hand instead of a mount on helmet or shoulder. Hell, its DOOM, father of all FPS, then why Id followed the others. Even Quake4 is better than DOOM3.
No comparison, FEAR is better than DOOM3.
Project Origin will probably support DX10, but it definitely will not be exclusive to it.Einhanderkiller
Definitely DX9 with optional settings for DX10 :)
Yes, the Syndicate series was good but, hey, have you all forgotten Populous & Populous 2 (Amiga & Atari ST days) by Bullfrog?
These were the original, & some ways still the best,RTS ever!
IMP_ACT
Yep , I remember Magic Carpet and Syndicate too. DK 1 was awesome, DK2 was not that much good, I Wonder if they will ever revive the old classics, like POP is again as awesome as the old POP.
I have played the overlord , but it is not good enough to be compared with DK.
Gameplay
Story (with a character to realte with)
Grahpics
No, not really. A lot of the charm of these games comes from their graphics. However, when graphics impede gameplay (eg the first warcraft game) then perhaps a remake would improve on the original formula.grarap
Yep, you are right, I still play starcraft and Red alert 1 and like the sounds of "Ready to Roll Out" and "Engineering" from these games.
I agree with @backoflight Half life is still the GAME!
However, I've played STALKER about 4 times, and It always gives me a satisfaction of in a world , unlikely of anyother FPS out there, all of NPC's accents , russian hardware, look and feel is very very rare in FPS world. After a little patch up this game really shines. Bioshock on other hand is very different, it gives me the powers of fantasy in a modern era of 1960 with a story line and some pretty looking levels. If I have to grade the FPS, then I will grade them
Half Life
Stalker
Bioshock ( I really like to Zap people)
Fear
Crysis ( Very Far Far Far Away Graphical Candy)
I can't remember exactly, but my early PC games were like caveman, duke nukem , jill of the jungle , Prince of Persia etc.
I use to have a 386sx ( a very costly item in Pakistan at that time ).
By the way, my first ever electronic game paly was on a nintendo game and watch in 1981.
