Im trading my new computer and buying a mac notebook, for college next year because im taking television broadcasting. Computer gaming was taking to much of my time up. Any one else feel the same way?

I was thinking about getting a gaming pc, when a question hit me. Is it worth it? Am I going to end up spending $2000 for a pc that will end up not even being able to play crysis or games from a year from now on all high settings? Is a 8800GTS [640MB] graphics card even going to last me till the end of next year?

The Scariest moment in Games for me is when that little creepy headcrab jumps at me in Half Life. I have played that game more than 200 times, and now exactly from where that little freak will jump at me, but still I get scared. :(

By the way, Half Life, FEAR & now STALKER are the only games which gives me creeps. 

Must admit i am very suprised by these reply's. I guess it really is just down to individual taste. For me the last couple of years, and i hope the coming year has seen some of my all time favourite games. I have had every console and computer since the c16 way back when. Recent games such as sup com, CoH, Medieval 2 and even stalker have blown me away and i love them all. I personaly thought wow was great too, for me far better than past mmo's and future mmo's such as Warhammer just get me excited. I really do think this year is going to be amazing. After playing CoH and stalker i really can't undertand people who say devs aren't trying new things.Frozzik

Yep I do agree that Stalker, COH , SUPCOM are A+ games, but again , My Appetite requires AAA+ game every month, what can you say about it? 

The Golden Age is Over!!!

Nowdays we get only eye candy, nothing in terms of gameplay,story or immersiveness.

Only 3-4 games come out in a year , which we can call a game, otherwise it is just marketing gimmick.

I miss 90s , It was an awesome era for PC gaming. 

A very cool looking graphical paradise.

Very hightech weapons.

Lots of gunfights.

Aliens.

NO STORY, NO SATISFACTION, JUST MINDLESS CARNAIGE.

I will keep on playing my Fav HL & STALKER for the sake of FPS. 

Well, To be honest, STALKER is not what you think of other FPS.

It is something in the lines of Half LIfe, Infact sometimes better than HL. It is a real thinking man game, you cannot just pop up infront of your foes and gun them down, cause you take up same kind of beating as they do.

Try to feel the in game world, and then act accrodingly, you will beat the game, and it will be worthwhile.
