I've got the Nzxt Whisper case. Bought it when I didn't do my research and thought it was "cool" and would be super silent....

I'm going to upgrade to a GTX 570 soon but the CPU would stay

CPU cooler is pretty clean checked it 2 weeks ago when I had to open the case, I'll take some time to redo the wiring and will clean it all out. It will probably take a few hours to do that so was wondering what kind of a cpu cooler to get.

If I'm opening the system up and organising everything I might as well install the cooler then, coz the system doesn't really get opened up that much (its freakin heavy)

Still would need some input as far as the CPU cooler goes, I'll upgrade the graphics card in the near future

Hi, I've got a i7 920 and a GTX-275, I need to install an aftermarket cooler to cool them both down.

Reason is that I'm down here in Australia, its 1degree celsius and playing EVE my PC fans roar up to compensate for heat issues.

Summer is coming in a few months and I don't want my computer to fry up :D

I need something that is easy to install, I've built my own system however I've never plugged in aftermarket coolers before.

Will I need to buy thermal paste seperatley, do I get a particularly good one or is it supplied with the cooler.

Also with the GPU cooler, will I or can I remove the stock fans and outfit an aftermarket one?

Also question, my case has the option to tidy up cables, but I haven't done that since some cables are too short. Will it make a difference if I tidy up the cables and run them from behind the motherboard?

Most brands are easily available here so feel free to link up newegg

Cheers

seems like one is usb 3 and the other is usb 2

get a samsung story station, comes with its own software (doesn't work on win7 yet)

and it looks super cool, matte finish so no fingerprints and scratches, also has a power button on the front

sony or microsoft cannot buy the other, its not possible

there could be a divisions merger like playstation and xbox but nothing more than that

sony is much more than the playstation and so is microsoft, besides a divisions merger its not even possible that one can buy the other

and how many times do companies buy domain names just in case they don't get hijacked

eg: I go to the office, boss says sony rep is coming over to talk about a possible xmb partnership, he tells me to go through the motions

I setup domain names, get someone to design different logos and color themes

sony guy comes in, we don't agree on price, nothing happens

Rebuild it completely and test components individually. Also inspect components for apparent physical damage (bulging caps for example).

If the PSU wasn't the culprit the problem could be a short-circuit and/or damaged component.

As this guy said. Isolation test will prove everything. Take it all out, and try it then.

You did check your power board right?

If the isolation test doesn't work, then you have a faulty motherboard.

(make sure you check your ram one at a time as well)

this could also be a bad connector so check everything after ripping it all out

could it be an application that is causing the problem?

backup your data and recover or reset the laptop to factory default settings.

they should have given you a recovery disc, use that

This is a very extensive topic to discuss, I'm suprised not enough people share their thoughts on this.

IMO the case is the most important part of a system followed by a PSU

Get these two to your liking and you can have you next 3 systems without upgrading these.

I'm searching for a new case at the moment since I plan to do a major upgrade in around december (!)

I'm favoring towards the Silverstone cases like the raven or fortress, waiting for a newer version of Raven that fixes some of the things I don't like with the current one.

When looking for a case, all the things mentioned are important, like number of fans, type of fans for replacement if need be.

Does it have enough USB 3 ports
Can the grills be removed easily for cleaning
I'm always looking for a full tower so cable management is also important
Case build and does it have enough noise dampening features

I'm sure if I can find a case to my liking I'll buy it straight away, but as for right now, there is nothing that I can say is a great case, all of them have pros and cons

The coolermaster HAF series seems to be extremly popular so you can always go for that.
