"Sony has been leading the charge in the 3D gaming arena." I stopped there. Leading the charge!?!? NVIDIA got there last year! The technology is getting fairly mature now on PCs. When I read Pagliarulo's statement, I decided to upload a few 3D videos from Fallout 3 in his honor. Whether Pagliarulo hates it or not, I'm ALREADY playing his game in full 3D. Does GameSpot even understand that PCs still exist? How many sales did Starcraft 2 get again? mariostar0001, actually that's not so for a lot of games. Games are different than movies because in most games YOU control the camera. Plus, at least on the PC side, tons of games automatically became stereoscopic so there was an instant library of games instead of having made-specifically-for-stereoscopic games come out first. hitboy806, what do you mean 'higher quality 3D'?? Games aren't movies. They are already being done in 3D. It's your video card/chip's job to take that 3D world and turn it into a 2D picture. It's not like those cheap 3D-me-too movie conversions at all.

The beta for the 256 NVidia driver is already out. Works pretty well, too. Now could somebody at Gamestop please make this Sarju person watch "The China Syndrom" before he gets us all killed!!

First console was some sad little thing that only played pong and a few pong variations, but it was years before Atari 2600. Maybe 1976? Then the Atari 2600. Then an Apple ][+. Then an IBM Clone. Then my own Atari 800XL. Then an Atari ST (ooo, Air Warrior!). Then a long series of PCs. I got a Playstation 2 and an XBox 360, too, but they just sit downstairs in front of the exercise bike. I remember being sad about the Atari 2600 conversion of Pac Man (and Defender), too, but I don't remember them being that bad! The Asteroids conversion was plenty fun, even if they didn't have the vector graphics. Space Invaders also did pretty good.

"ON a PC you have to buy at least one a year unless you allready have alot of money in it." That's flat out wrong, but your overall gist is right. Pay more, get better game goodness. Consider the above a nice sample of what you get if you work hard in school, stay away from the nasty stuff everyone knows is nasty, and get a bit of good luck.

And how the hades are you burning through 5 installations when the game only lasts for maybe 50 hours, tops? You aren't changing your specs often, you are changing them CONSTANTLY if that's happening! But even if you do, you can just call up EA and get it re-activated, right? The Dead Space demo was a tad late, but it did come out about a month after the game was released. There's also system requirements. Those are pretty confusing for a lot of folks but, if you're the type of person to swap out hardware and OS on a daily basis, I rather doubt you'll find them confusing. Beat the recommended (NOT the minimum) specs and you're fine.

Uhhh, no, UAC doesn't bug you every time you sneeze in Vista. It only pops up when you do something that will affect other users on the same box. And who cares how W7 runs on a machine with 1 gig?? A gamer with 1 gig right now is hurting, having one gig when 7 comes out would be just sad. DX11 is sounding sweet - tessalations in particular. And I've got IE8 Beta 2 now, it's got some sweet stuff but it's still very much beta. The release candidate should be out soon, probably best to wait for that.

Yeah Chaos, they should have bought a processor off New Egg, used it for awhile, then lied to New Egg to tell them it was broken. So what if New Egg loses $100? Sheesh. New Egg SELLS products, they don't rent them.

That's not how it works, Belwasp. All those glasses do is block one eye from seeing, then the other eye, then the first eye again - and it switches 120 times every second. Your monitor shows 120 pictures every second so half you see with your right eye and half with the left eye. Something that's not answered - your monitor going 120Hz sounds great but won't your game have to crank out 60 frames per second for NVIDIA's drivers to calculate the two persepectives on time? What if the game slows down a bit in a complex scene? Also, touch screen is supposed to be The Big Thing in Windows 7. Any 120Hz monitors with touch screen? Man, that's going to be a freaky interface if it's 3D and touch sensitive!

"Is it just my eyes or the console games use some kind of blur that kind of hides the textures(especially the GTA IV ones)?" Probably using blur. It shouldn't be too noticable in motion on a TV set but it really shows up in a screenshot. A pity GameSpot didn't have one high-end PC and one low-end, $1000 PC. I think the $1K PC would still beat out most consoles.
