The truth of this article is that consumers have created this monster. The behaviors of a group can be drastically different than that of an individual. On another note, this strategy is making them richer every year. Success has justified their actions.
This Kinect 2.0 better be as important as a controller or games for that matter. I had no interest in the Kinect 1.0, but at least I wasn't forced to buy it.
I'm not sure where these companies are getting their data. If it is not a first-person-shooter, I'm usually offline. I don't get all caught up in leaderboards and what not. Selling gamers hollowed games seem to be the new money making scheme for game developers. Local co-op should be default for every game because eventually the number of people online for a specific game is going to drop (with the few exceptions like (COD or Battlefield games).
