@Phatmista @Xentarim Hm... as far as I can tell, the "Uncanny Valley" relates to appearances which are almost human-like, yet incongruous in some fashion. But the issue with the 60/100 fps is apparent to me, even if they are two versions of the same clip, consisting of real people.

Interesting piece, but I had a releted question which I was hoping you could provide some insight to. It seems that for at least some people (myself included), 24 or 30 fps looked "more real" than 60 Hz, despite 60 or 100 Hz in theory being smoother. I was just wondering whether it's because we have been conditioned to watch movies in 24 Hz that we find it hard to adapt to higher frame rates in there, while having no issues with it in games.

@Tomdogg @tempertress @angry_cowtipper I *think*, and my memory's a bit fuzzy here, that it's a game where you chase after and try to hit, or "tag", some kind of fried minced potato patty...

Haha! Man so entertaining. Haven't watched this show for a couple of weeks. Now I realise how much I've missed it =)

Whoa! Alone in the Dark!!

I remember it as one of the earliest games I played in color! (Yes, I am old enough to have played on the monochrome green pixel thingies). Was completely clueless for the most part. Went through tonnes of trial and error. I remember it as being pretty cinematic and tense.

Simpler times haha...

Not sure if anyone's already said this, but the sign at 2:45 translates literally as "Caution!! Entry forbidden". In other words "Warning! Do not enter"

@ANUBISZER0 Actually, Zorine's pretty unflappable, so her starting to freak out is actually unusual haha

@damian1977 @crix01 Hi there. I think people don't mind negative comments all that much, but rather the way it's delivered. It is fine to say one does not derive any pleasure from the show, which your original comments stated. However I think somewhere along the way it gave the impression that you thought less of the people who do enjoy the show. Certainly the word "stupid" is more often used to antagonize rather than not.

In any case, something more specifically constructive would be nice, such as the kind of commentary that would be more useful, or the direction you would find more befitting of Gamespot standards.

As for me, I watch it because I don't really find the time or mental energy to go through survival horror games any more, and it's good to know that I'm not the only one with random thoughts jumping into my head when I get nervous.

As you said, to each his own. But why not we try to keep things friendly and neutral? Thanks for reading.

Proving a causal relationship isn't always straightforward. In some of the cases where a person played violent games then went on a shooting spree... well, did they shoot people because they played violent video games, or did they shoot people and play video games for the same reason: that they are simply violent people to begin with?

@igorphoenix Personally, I'd like to see where this would go. It could work, and if it does, it would bring the whole set of conventional wisdom on piracy into question. It has the potential to open up a whole new facet in the relationship between developer and gamer.
