I salute you girls for playing this for our benefit. Despite being very apparently nervous with the horror genre =)

@aamir69 Oh yes. In particular the small dungeons that are required to progress through the campaign, and yet you get these creatures that are small, fast, yet STILL have obscene amounts of damage. And here they are, champion versions that leave damaging spawns on the floor. And they spawn right at the entrance. A full party including 2 barbarian tanks, and they all rage quit after being killed 5 times and triggering the enrage timer... Seriously, they ought to have had SOME balancing...

Personally, I believe having the OPTION to skip combat sequences makes sense. I have tried playing Alice: Madness Returns, but found it a grind because the combat sequences have little bearing on the story, and felt out of place. It was like they were put there merely as a means to stretch the game out between the story sequences. The story was interesting, but it would mean that I either spent hours doing something I did not enjoy, or waste my money by tossing the game aside.

Actually, Zloth2, PC has had the 3D thing going for a very, very long time. The oldest I can recall is with the Riva TNT2 graphic card which came out in 1999. However, it is because of this history that I remain skeptical of 3D gaming. I do believe that it is too early, and that developers and console makers seem to be jumping on the bandwagon without really giving it enough thought. Over-excitement, perhaps? 3D's been done for years in cinemas too, and yet it seems that everyone is just jumping at it after Avatar. The truth is, I don't see the casual everyday consumer being willing to change their lifestyle and put on glasses every time they want to play a game or watch a movie. A few will buy it, but I believe most will eventually grow tired of it, and just revert to 2D viewing over time. Nintendo's idea with 3DS is brilliant, though, since it does not require the user to change anything about his/her self. It might not work for the consoles, however, since there will often be times when several people will be watching the screen at the same time, and the only way to do that right now is to have everyone wear glasses (as opposed to the 3DS's 'sweet-spot' 3D). They need some better tech for this. It's just too early.

That's like... Wow... I didn't expect the difference between the PC and console versions to be that vast. Although I probably wouldn't notice while playing, but looking at these screens, it's just impressive. Some details (like on the purple dress in the last screenshot) are only visible on the PC version. Heck, even the shield's a different shape!
