@charlieholmes: I agree with you 100% and I don't think we're the only ones who feel that way. Something hasn't felt right every since the announcement that the PS4 and X1 were coming out. There just hasn't been any real energy there for me and I bought both consoles within the Day One Release period. It just doesn't feel fun anymore to me and I'm tired of there being so many patchie games. I've learned to be even more picky about my game purchases now than ever before, making it sometimes feel like a waste. I hope both Sony and MS fix things before it's just too late. I've been console gaming for more than 30 yrs and I'm finally starting to lose interest at this point and I really enjoy gaming.

@bigdaddyshouse: I agree but I'm thinking that by then we won't even be worrying about 4K tv and bandwidth caps by internet providers. By then I see us using something similar to VR glasses and is self supporting without the need for external hardware to push processing power and graphics computations. I see all of the major processing being done on the other end by the service provider. I don't think it's as far off as we think, maybe 5 to 10 more years but not everywhere will have the infrastructure to support it.

It's funny that we're even thinking about a PS4.5 or PS5 this early. Purely looking at the number of new games released in the last 2 1/2 years --- not remasters or remakes ---- for both the PS4 and X1 the current generation hasn't even started yet. Every time one turns around there's a release about a game delayed until the next year. I don't look at the indie games as game changers as most if not all of them could have been or were also on either the PS3 or 360. I don't think that many of us will ever look at consoles the same way after this console generation is over. I also have a feeling that the number of console gamers will be less come the next gen as we lose confidence in MS and Sony. I do believe there is a possibility that there may not be a PS5 as we have learned to think of console in the past.

Regardless of what is said I have a strong feeling that if an upgraded ps4 is released optimization on the original will suffer, especially with the strict release time lines some developers have for their games. There's no way that the early adopters of the original ps4 won't be affected in the long run. The number of issues and game patches released after games come out would only increase even more.

@ltjohnnyrico: I don't really see console gamers asking for all these things as much as I do PC gamers and developers. All that most console games ask for is that the games are fun, entertaining, somewhat innovative, look nice, arrive unbroken day one and run at a really good framerate. That use to be what console gaming was about, not just tech being wasted and mediocrity.

@ltjohnnyrico: Yes you and a few others probably will but for many --- myself included --- it will cause them to question Sony and Microsoft's ability to put out reliable consoles when it comes to purchasing in the future. I'd hoped that starting from the PS3 and Xbox 360 up MS and Sony would be forward thinking when it came to console hardware performance. Instead, it looks like the same old story we use to see with consoles coming out weak to save money and their lifespans being shortened with each generation has returned. Regardless of what's said at some point developers decide that they don't want to waste resources on the weaker consoles if they have to choose between them and quality drops. MS and Sony should have thought about consoles from a modular prospective not a wasteful prospective. To me that's the only real advantage PC's have over consoles. This console gen is really starting to look like a total disappointment in several ways.

The more I hear rumors about this the more I see a nightmare coming for current PS4 owners --- myself included as I own a PS4 and X1 . It's funny because it doesn't really feel like this console gen ever got started for Sony or MS due to both of them rushing out under-powered boxes that lack the graphic horsepower needed to make a true difference. I personally could care less about 4K I'd just like to have had a console with a graphics processor that could at least accomplish the majority of its games at 1080p /30fps and all the bells and whistle needed from the get go---even if I'd have had to pay a little more back then. If the hardware wasn't ready neither Sony or MS should have leaped before they could put out a decent product. I think that it all comes down to the fact that neither company wanted to spend the extra to have a specialized graphics chip built for their console this gen. Yes, they saved money in the long run and offered a cheaper console but the gamers who really cared got screwed in the short term. In the Past 3 years all we've heard about are all the great games that are coming and most of those are delayed to the next year due to hardware issues that developers were having from day one of the console releases. Half if not more of the software released has performance issues when it does come out on day one. If anything Sony and MS themselves may lead to this being the last console gen we see as we know it for consoles. It feels like all we've heard were excuses and this is only a bandage after the fact. If things keep going this way, game consoles could become irrelevant. I really hope that doesn't happen.

I will be picking up the PSVR as long as I can find it without the Bundle. I already have the PS4 camera and two unopened PS Move controllers. I'm actually hoping to see some great 1st person RPG's like Elder Scroll etc. take advantage of VR. I think VR has a great deal of potential as long as developers remember that they don't have to reinvent the wheel but envision it in a different way and literally from different perspectives. Affordable VR at home is something I've been waiting on for years. At $400 bucks plus being able to use hardware I already own I won't complain. Just like with everything else there will only be a few really good developers out there that have the incite to create something special but it's worth it. Gaming has been getting stale, perhaps adding a new dimension to it --- which 3D tv's failed to do --- can invigorate it again. It's nice to feel physically/emotionally pulled into a game sometimes.

Doing this pretty much makes watching the episodes unnecessary and the filming a waste of time. If it's not hard-coded in the game why would I want to watch it until after I complete the entire game or at all? Just trying to understand the real logic. I can understand conserving hard drive space but there's really no reason that watching video can't be screamed from a second Blu-ray disc as with Dvds in the past if it's not playable game footage. If you own a Physical copy of the game you have to leave a disc in to play the game any way. I can see online screaming for digital purchaser but not the owners of physical discs. It's sort of a laughable idea all together. I thought the episodes were supposed to be interwoven into the game as to not interfere with the over all experience --- that it was supposed to tie the overall game together. To me this brings about a ton of questions.

I keep hearing about the number of consoles sold, but I've yet in the past 3yrs --- and this will be 3yrs for both consoles --- to see nearly the number of game releases as the previous gen had around this time in their life cycle. I can care less about how many systems are sold or how one developer is milking gamers. I want to see more games and less delays and excuses. The way things are going the consoles will reach 8yrs old before there are enough games to have played on them. I don't even factor the other fads like VR etc. into the picture. My question is where are the non-Indie/non-remastered games?
