Yeah, good for you (no sarcasm). However, ya gotta realize that one of the best parts of current gen games are the online multiplayer modes and when you do get a current gen console, either there wont be anyone online or youll be playing against people who have been playing the game for years and will whoop you.
But yeah, it's definitely the economic way to go. I have only been buying used, and I don't foresee a day when that'll change. I got Resistance1 and BioShock for 20 bucks last week. There are just so many older games that I will buy before I feel the "need" to get a recently released title. Hell, I still have some of God of War1 and all of GOW2 to play thru before I can even entertain getting GOW3...and the GOW PS2 games cost me more than Bioshock and Resistance for ps3 did. just sayin
I have never played a single RPG. I wanna try one. What would you recommend to me?
PS - Final Fantasy and most other JRPGs don't really interest me much. I've been eyeing up Dragon Age and Oblivion. And will Red Dead Redemption fall into the RPG genre? Thanks.
I had some games that my neighbor wanted, and he made me an offer of Indiana Jones and this weird, futuristic racing game F-Zero. I said yes, 'cause I figured the Indiana Jones game would be okay -- but the F-Zero game is the one I fell in love with.
If you haven't played a Resistance, Fall of Man is worth buying for sure. I'm having a blast doing the co-op campaign with friends, and when I've played it out I can't wait to get the 2nd one.
I am playing GOW1 for the first time right now. I am on Pandora's Rings, and wow what an experience this game is turning out to be...Hard to imagine GOWII being better, and the trailers for GOWIII leave my mouth on the floor..
As someone with pretty much zero rpg experience, I'd like to branch out and try one of the most classic video game titles of all-time (Final Fantasy). I didn't even play Zelda when it was huge. I definitely want to give an RPG a try, I've been eyeing up the next gen ones such as Mass Effect 2, Fallout 3, Dragon Age, or Oblivion. I'm thinking that I should probably give a newer title run..
