I get what you saying and where youre coming from.
Sadly you wont find a single big site like Gamespot without something fishy goin on. You think in IGN such things wont occur or in any other site? If you had a site and X company offered you some thousands $$ free money just to favor their game a bit , you would say no in the name of journalism ? Lets be honest , most of us, no all of us , in this era we living ... we would take those damn $$. Even you TC
You don't call yourself a journalist and take bribes. No, I wouldn't.
They get money to advertise titanfall. Not hard to figure out. Forums do not keep the lights on. Oh, 500 posts btw
And you see this as acceptable journalism? Explain to me what reason I have to come to this website and expect an honest, unbiased review when a week ago they were being paid to advertise the game? At that point, why does this website even exist aside from being nothing more than another marketing tool?
How exactly should this have been moved to system wars? It has nothing to do with consoles or pc. It's about Gamespot and it was posted in the correct place. Do mods just not know what to do with threads that criticize their website?
I just want to say that I come to Gamespot for an unbiased opinion on games that I may potentially purchase. To have an entire week devoted to hyping Titanfall, a product which they will later review, is not something a journalist should be doing. It is unprofessional, out of line and honestly, nothing more than selling out the people that view this site as means to becoming informed. If I were a Gamespot editor or journalist I would be ashamed of misleading the people that, honest to God, keep your damn site going.
Gamespot really needs to reevaluate just who they're catering to here. Is it we the gamers that log in, click your ads and read your articles? Or is it the publishers that send you fancy gifts and ask nothing more than a favorable review? And don't call me some nut for even bringing this up, you're completely naive if you honestly think this crap doesn't go on. There's a reason I'm on Gamespot and not IGN... though that may change if I see another damn week of hype... that's not your damn job as a journalist.
