Still, I believe that putting heroes in Starcraft 2, in single player, would have been more interesting. At least, it would have been very clever for their part to have an option in multiplayer to enable or disable heroes, unlike Warcraft 3.

Suspect that this will be exactly how they do it, it matches what occured with SC1 anyway. Multiplayer wise, it wasn't that much of a hit. If, you look at how WC3 is evualated over in S.Korea vs SC, seems like a decent yardstick to me anyway. They want to bottle lightning once more, well best to pay attention then to what made it possible first time round.

Omg.. it's about time that blizzard has anounce that they are going to release Starcraft 2. But what ever happened to Starcraft Ghost? Honestly.. I don't know since Blizzard has been spending much of their support and time to WoW(World of Warcraft) Players who have no life(most of them. Plus... they haven't release anything since forever i mean seriously. Basically the question im trying to ask is why on earth has Blizzard never announce their new games, especially their new Starcraft 2 and spend most of their time in WoW?HyBridFuRy

a) Ghost is indefinitely on hiatus, See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StarCraft:_Ghost

b) They released TBC on january 16th 2007, so your claim of they haven't released anything since forever is just useless hyperbole which adds nothing to your credibility.

c) As mentioned SC2 was announced yesterday, and as mentioned in the articles about it on gamespot, they've been working on SC2 since shortly after they finished with WCIII:TFT (and that would mean that they've been busy with it since 2003). Further disproving your claim that much of their support and time have gone to WoW. Blizzard has multiple teams at their disposal, it was known that one team was probably working on an RTS, which turned out to be SC2. It is also known that another team (the remnants of Blizzard North) are working on something undisclosed, which could therefore be Diablo related.

d) There is nothing wrong with not liking WoW, different strokes for different folks afterall. Bad mouthing the player base, even if it might be justified in certain circumstances, again does little to enhance your own appearance to your audience.

The image you have created for yourself with this "question", at least with me, is hardly one that I'd designate as positive. And that's being overly polite to say the least.

I've seen all the trailers so far and to me the in game stuff looks like they just took Warcraft III, made a couple of graphics tweeks and put Starcraft units and terrain in. Now theres nothing at all wrong with Warcraft III, but thats a 4 year old game. Shouldn't it look like Supreme Commander or Medevil 2.DELTAsnake

While it is reminiscent of the WCIII engine, I suspect they did more than just tweak the graphics a bit. Those Protoss Collossus seem to show, that it is a 3d map by how they step onto a cliffside, something that could not be done in the previous version of WCIII.

Plus, there's the issue of the original version of the WCIII engine, if that is what they are using, could not deal with that many units,  pathfinding seems to be a bit better as well.

And if an engine works, can be further tweaked to handle that what you wish to put into a game, and can get a new lick of paint to the graphics side to boot, why then create a new one? Waste of resources really. If, the engine cannot do what you want it to do, if it cannot handle the type of graphics that you wish to have, that's when you scrap it and try to see if part of the work can be salvaged or that you start from scratch.

Roughly 26 hours total, if I had to substract bathroom breaks, making quick snacks, etc, roughly 24 hours in total and that was the WoW US Open Beta. At that point, started dying a lot, reflexes slowed down, fuzzy thinking. Decided to log off and catch some zzz's and get back to it later. Having plenty of paid vacation time left can be quite beneficial at times.:D

Listen to your instructor, a) low and slow is the way to go. b) Sometimes the long route is actually the shortest way to your objective. c) Utilize whatever cover you can find, like bushes for instance.

It's a bit of a learning process, but it's quite doable for those with some patience. Just wish that it would come into play on actual maps.

Sounds like Twi hit the bullseye. What you're describing sounds like Multiplayer Battletech 3025, was a MMOFPS that EA was developing at one point. It was pushed into Open Beta, then the plug got pulled.

And of course there was the Galactic Civilization II stunt that Starforce pulled: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galactic_Civilizations_II:_Dread_Lords#Starforce_controversy

Also see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StarForce  and here: http://forums.galciv2.com/index.aspx?forumid=161&aid=106741&c=1 and the follow-up they mention.

US FAQ needs to be updated.

EU FAQ seems to be on the ball: http://www.lotro-europe.com/faq.php?pagename=home

So, nope, not free.

Jonathan LeCraft from Blizzard says differently by the by: http://www.pro-g.co.uk/news/15-01-2007-4497.html

Doesn't look like it will happen therefore. As for what they will announce in S.Korea? Most likely Starcraft related, considering it's practically a religion there. New franchise or something Diablo related are also possible.
