How embarrassing for America that this is the frontrunner of a major political party.

If 500 mil suddenly shows up in the guy's lap I really hope there's a follow-up to figure out which corrupt ass nation is helping and who he'll be beholden to.

Dump catches a "break" as his conviction for hush money payment for cheating on his wife with a pornstar is likely to be delayed 1 month.

The USAO conveniently dumped 31,000 pages of evidence, likely at the request of the defense. It was requested by the prosecution that they secure them ages ago but they didn't bother until now. Unfortunately it'll probably work as a delay unless the judge insists on moving forward, which is a bad idea if they want an airtight prosecution with 0 appeal room.

Really just the most ridiculous shit ever. Apparently if you are so criminal that you leave an infinite trail of evidence you just can't be tried ever.

In the end, it's always the have-nots weeping in envy over those who have.

Compelling stuff.

By the same token I don't see any problems with stabbing people, because only the ones being stabbed are complaining. The guys with the knives seem fine with it.

Comrade!

Any limit seems rather arbitrary. I mean you and I can work our asses off and yet there's still folks out there making 10s of thousands every month selling used garments and such... the issue of "fairness" doesn't ever truly ring a bell to me.

edit: on second approach, if I could make 10s of thousands selling my used garments... not saying I would, but there would be a consideration.

If the top 1% was able to be taxed out of all the wealth they have in speculative markets, real estate, and other tax dodgy shit, they would be able to provide trillions in revenue instantly without a single change to their current income or lifestyle.

If the bottom 99% was taxed for that same amount there would be mass panic and economic crash, as everyone went into horrible crippling debt and then burn down all the billionaire doomsday mansions.

That doesn't sound like "any limit seems rather arbitrary" to me.

At a certain point it just doesn't matter how wealthy you get, you won't even really notice increasing wealth anymore, and the concept of how much money you actually have falls apart.

Put another way, if you are trying to build a moat of fire around a mansion to keep out the poors, it's not arbitrary anymore, you should be taxed into oblivion.

@sargentd: From now on every time I see a shitty AI Trump image I'm going to post a real image of him playing tennis looking dumpy and with a clear outline of his adult diaper, to offset the exposure.

The response to the SOTU had all of the energy and charisma of someone fed lines and emotions while their family is being held at gunpoint in another room. Poorly acted with a terrible message and creepy undertones.

Unfortunately, the story seems to be rubbish. Completely forgettable. Between this and FE:E it just seems we can't have a strategy RPG that combines good gameplay with good story.

I can recommend Symphony of War if you want a decent story for a tactics RPG. I emphasize decent because it's not amazing nor is it high on production budget, but it felt quite a bit more competent to me when compared with recent FE games.

As for Unicorn Overlord, it's not on PC so much like 13 Sentinels I'll probably just want it and pine for it, but not quite enough to get a console version.

I mean, right in your own article:

"Why it matters:AI makers are trying to counter biases and stereotyping in the data they used to train their models by turning up the "diversity" dial — but they're over-correcting and producing problematic results."

I'm sure that "diversity dial" just appeared out of nowhere. A random glitch, and not intentional at all!

You're right, it didn't appear out of nowhere, it appeared because AI models have historically engaged in whitewashing or stereotyping everyone from lack of training data and excess of stock imagery. Except no one called it a right-wing white nationalist conspiracy from Dall-e or Chat GPT or Stable Diffusion, because the people affected realized it was just a bug or algorithm issue to be worked on.

Now the Gemini and Meta models are pulling from a more diverse crowd that makes up their global userbase, and less from stolen or purchased stock images ,so they inevitably will generate more diverse depictions. The only issue here is they do it without more careful consideration of context. It's baffling to me that you can't understand that a model designed to generate literally everything and everyone will do just that and might not do exactly what you want when it's essentially random number generation.

So if AI is now generating black popes, black nazis, black 17th century european monarchs, but not white ones, which of the following explanations is the most logical to you?

Gemini was definitely capable of doing depictions of white people before the shutdown. Get your facts straight dude.

Even images from right wing NYP specifically to show the issues, still show white people being generated.

The AI was trained on all peoples of all walks of life and simply wasn't capable of making a logical conclusion like "Don't draw black Nazi's" because it isn't yet capable of that exception. I really have no idea why you want so badly for this to be some elaborate conspiracy when it so clearly isn't.

And on a related note, Meta now also has the same issue with it's generator. Are we going to assume that Meta is now a woke leftist conspiracy as well?
