10 minutes? Rubbish. What cleaning solution are you using? Mayonaise? Rubbing alcohol will take it all off in seconds. Just get the 99% lanolin free and youre good to go.

I use the arctic silver 5 cleaning kit with the purifier.  I follow the manufacturers recommended steps, since the cpu isnt something I want to mess up, especially an expensive one like the i7.

I have the same kit and it takes like a minute to do...

Consoles are often optimized like hell to, a lot more than PC games, so I never tend to compare a console to a PC. They manage to squeeze so much out of consoles its insane, if they can get Skyrim to run on Xbox and still hold a decent framerate and look good then the next gen consoles will be able to make some damn good looking games.

Overclocking also

-- eats up more power. I remember seeing like the power figures for a Llano overclock and it was like 100 watts more than stock?

-- shortens life of CPU

-- generally more unstable system

-- you have to spend several hours trouble shooting, checking thermal paste, messing with voltage settings, running stress tests

It's fun just to see how far you can push it, but really, not really that useful practically.

1: If your into expensive PC hardware, your not gonna care about an extra few £ on your bill. 2: By the time you notice the CPU is dying it will be a long, long time down the line and will probably be in a bin somewhere. 3: Its not unstable if you know what your doing. 4: OC CPU>>Pass Intel Burn Test ina few minutes>>Test a game>>Done. And you end up with a nice performance boost in games and applications.

[QUOTE="GioVela2010"][QUOTE="Toxic-Seahorse"] You're comparing a reference 7970 with an aftermarket heatsink 670. The 7970 is really only 6dbA more than the reference 670. I'm sure the custom heatsink 7970's (like the windforce) are quieter than the reference card.blaznwiipspman1

6db is more than twice as loud. And the HD 7970 doesn't have a non reference card anywhere near as quiet as the Asus GTX 670

whats with these eco friendly pansies who want everything quiet.  I prefer the roar of a mustang to a **** car like the prius.  When I turn on my computer and I start gaming I want people to know that my card is a powerful beast.  If you want a dead silent video card go for the passive cooling anemic cards like the radeon 7750 or the geforce 620.  That way problem solved, you won't hear anything at all lol, 0 dBA right there.  46 dBA is about the sound of conversation between people in whispers.  Its un noticeable.

Wtf...

[QUOTE="Allicrombie"]

[QUOTE="XIntoTheBlue"]Out of 1,244 reviews on Amazon's SimCity page, about 1100 of those gave it 1 star. That is very telling, if you ask me.chrisrooR

its telling in that anytime there's a launch problem, most people will whine and **** about it. No one has any problems with Diablo 3 anymore, but they did the same thing.

Diablo 3 servers weren't down for 3-4 days, and they didn't start removing features of the actual game before the servers were brought back online. This is way worse than the Diablo 3 launch, something I was also unfortunately a part of.

Indeed, Diablo 3 wasnt all that bad, sure there was a lag but I mean they didnt start removing game features and stuff, that is just insane...

Diablo was bad on launch night with the error code. And for a little while afterwards with lag spikes and lag in general, but they fixed it eventually.

For a CPU that would last a while, either the 3570k by Intel or one of the newer AMD chips. I dont really like to go cheap on a CPU even if its for a medium build because they can last a real long time with some overclocking. For a GPU I would stretch it out a little further to and get something like this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-184-MS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1699

You will need like a 400W+ PSU to power that machine. But honestly that CPU is getting real old, save a bit more and get a newer CPU.

Was an awesome game when I played through it on the Xbox, very polished and detailed.
