The only issue with nowadays Nintendo is the lack of 3rd party support, which granted is a very serious issue. That being said, most of the good third party games on the other systems are better on PC, which makes the upcoming X-Box an the Playstation 4 very uninteresting to me.
The Wii U hate is funny, considering that any game on that'll be worthwhile on the NextBox or the PS4 will also be on the PC and play better, leaving Nintendo with being the only console with exclusives worth a crap.
If it wasn't for Nintendo, we never would have gotten Dragon Quest IX in the first place, since they published it here rather that Square Enix. It a lot of cases, it isn't ~Nintendo~ that doesn't want to release these games stateside as much as other companies who don't want to release something that won't make them a mint. Remember, while it took a while, we did eventually get Xenoblade Chronicles - largely do to fan demand.
Thankfully, Nintendo's first-party games tend to be more enjoyable than most of the games on other systems - and the good games that ~are~ on other systems are usually better on the PC in the first place.
One of these days, Americans are going to have to admit that we just have a f'd up culture built around greed and selfishness and that's our ~real~ problem. Every male in Switzerland owns a military-grade combat rifle and you don't hear about mass shootings there - and various other countries have violent videos and crap doesn't happen there - we need to look at the people we breed.
