Everything in MGS4 serves the narrative. If you don't care about the narrative, you'll almost certainly think that they made terrible design and pacing choices. For a narrative centered game their choices with gameplay mechanics, pacing, art assets, sound design, etc all make perfect sense. For a purely action centered multiplayer game they're obvious mistakes. Good thing that MGS4 is a narrative centric primarily single player experience rather than a primarily action centered multiplayer one.

Complaining about how the story is boring you in MGS4 is kind of like complaining that the lack of character development is boring you in Doom 3. You've already missed the boat by a mile.

[QUOTE="GazzaB"]Halo is a great franchise no matter what anyone says. Unlike bashers of the franchise, i have tons or website reviews and articles on the game praising it and backing me up. The only argument bashers have is to go "its overated! wha:cry: " But seriously, if you actually dont like the game, then thats your opinion and you seem to be in the minority, but dont go around bashing it just because you dont like it.angelkimne

I bash it because it did nothing to advance the genre. That's a legitamate complaint for a series of games that's supposed to be genre defining. Everything any of the Halo games did gameplay-wise had already been done better by some other game prior to Halo 1. Polished? Yes. Innovative? No.

I really don't think a game has to be innovative to be good.

But it does have to be innovative to be great.

It doesn't have to be innovative to be great, not that halo isn't innovative

I disagree, but I guess I just expect more from games than you do.

Halo 3 by a landslide. The most massive hype for a game that was just a generic run and gun shooter.

Can we all take a step back at this point, and realise that the "HD era" truly is a joke? This has to be one of the worst generations of all time in terms of over-talking products prior to their release, surely? The PS3 was meant to be a super computer; i need comment no further than that. Peter Moore declares the age of the jaggy over, only to have microsoft's top game Halo 3 be criticised in reviews for having the odd jagged edge too many, and now games not even being in HD at all seems to slowly becoming the standard.

Ninja-Hippo

The PC is the only TRUE HD platform. All games can run above 1080p!!!!!!!!

[QUOTE="AmyMizuno"]Am I the only person who could care less about haze? It's just another run-of-the-mill first person shooter, and I think it will get a 6.5.The_Game21x

I couldn't care less about Haze.

Agreed. I still do not understand why this game was hyped.

Same reason the Halo games were hyped. They're jock shooters and apparantly there's a market for them.
