Thank you for the help :) Will that cpu and this one http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=430633 reduce in price at the price cut? The only thing is the graphics card, it's a little too much, it costs nearly as much as an Xbox 360 :s

Will the pc fit inside this case? http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=15138 It's the case I currently have to keep the PC quiet. Idealy my mum wants a small desktop but I see that my current motherboard is an ATX, is there a desktop or small case that will fit an ATX board? I see this one http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=259098 It looks like it doesn't take normal sized dvd drives though.

1) whats your budget
2) what resolution do you want to play your games at.
3) can you wait till the 22nd.. (theirs an intel price cut..)
4) will you be building it yourself or do you want to buy a prebuilt system?

I live in the UK so I'm likely to get screwed on price anyway...

1) about 800 dollars but I don't need a hard drive, sound card or dvd drive. I will budget seperately for a graphics card if I can get a DX10 one that will last me a long time.
2) I don't care, just so they run smoothly. 1280x768? I've got a cheap widescreen monitor.
3) I can wait, will it be worldwide?
4) I don't mind building one but if it's signficantly cheaper to buy a prebuilt these days... so either

Hi, i've got a Pentium 4 3Ghz with 2gb of ram and a Geforce 6600GT. I need to upgrade because the ram is maxed out and the motherboard only has AGP. I'll start from scratch and give my PC to my mum :P

Can anyone help me with what kind of parts I need to buy a good system that is fast but away from the bleeding edge. I see some parts that are almost double the price for a 15%-20% speed increase and that's not what I want. I'll be using the computer for ram intensive programs and wouldn't mind playing games like Bioshock etc on it.

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

What I want is to be able to add to my collection Japanese versions of games that haven't come out in the USA yet. For example Ryu Ga Gotoku, Okami etc...
