Be prepared for no training whatsoever if you're hired. Be prepared to work an extremely busy day with absolutely no knowledge of how the cash register works or how to take game reserves/trade-ins, etc. I went through this last year and got about three hours of work a week (if I was lucky--many weeks I didn't work at all). Make absolutely sure that the store you're applying for has a great management team or don't even bother.

Glad to see Feedbackula back! I thought it was dead after last week.

The Steam Machines are definitely intriguing--console-like PCs that are potentially more powerful than next-gen consoles and fully upgradeable? I fail to see the downside to this. Barring exorbitant pricing and/or inferior specs, I think these things could be huge hits. Valve rarely does anything wrong.

Ouya. lol

The old GameSpot site design brings back so many memories! I used to view that site on an eMachines One PC (remember that? No?) in my parent's room because it was the only PC we had in the house.

Atrocious comments are all over websites, including GameSpot's. I don't know if there is an effective way of stopping them without removing comments sections entirely a la Popular Science--hardly an ideal solution.

:( One of my gaming industry heroes. He gave us Halo! Bungie won't be the same without him, though I still think Destiny is looking great.

Where's the next-gen versions? I plan on retiring my Xbox 360 and PS3 later this year in favor of the Xbox One and PS4, and my PC is getting old. With the architectures of the next Xbox and PlayStation being so similar to a PC, it shouldn't require too much effort to make next-gen versions of Dark Souls II.

I really like Diablo III. I wouldn't mind experiencing some new content for that game.

@Dredcrumb9 @Tsuchikage I'm talking real innovation. Driving tanks was included in Battlefield 1942. Guns feeling powerful isn't an innovation; it's a facet of gameplay. Gore and "realistic" carnage have been around in games forever. Assuming all of the things you mentioned are accurate, they still wouldn't be innovations.

An innovation is something that completely changes how multiplayer shooters work. Cover in Gears of War (though, that was actually invented by Kill.Switch years earlier). Loadouts/perks in Call of Duty 4. Epic vehicular warfare in Battlefield. Full 3D aiming in Quake.
