What I love most about this series is how unique and fantastic each entry is. Even series like Uncharted, Halo, and Dead Space have had relatively subpar entries, yet the Souls games keep getting better and better.
I've always thought there was a noticeable difference in smoothness of play between games running at 30 FPS and games running at 60, but it's really only a huge factor if you try the same game at both framerates or the 30 FPS game doesn't run smoothly, dipping below 30 FPS enough times to be distracting.
After the launch window games have worn out their welcome, we'll all need something new to play on our shiny new consoles and Watch_Dogs can fit that bill nicely due to the delay. It's not like there's a ton of games coming out for PS4/Xbox One early in 2014. Besides, every person that cancels their PS4 preorder is another PS4 that could potentially be mine! *evil laugh*
I actually liked the animus storyline until the completely nonsensical ending of Assassin's Creed II (made even worse by subsequent games.) Here's the thing, though; I still don't really mind them.
I completed Assassin's Creed III. I liked a lot of things about the game, including the much maligned opening hours. However, Assassin's Creed III has one huge flaw; too much stuff to do, most of it boring and having nothing to do with the main story. Homestead missions are awful! Sailing was great, but it had nothing to do with the plot and felt like it was made for a completely different game. Worse, Assassin's Creed IV is going to have even more side stuff to do! That doesn't make me hopeful about the game's quality.
@BradBurns @Tsuchikage I'd say that it hurt my respect for GameStop--a company that once had actual respect for gamers--more than it did my passion for gaming. I'll never stop loving video games because a company is terribly mismanaged at the local level (I literally had a store manager tell me that my knowledge of games is a detriment to working at GameStop).
