Now b4 i say anything.. i want everyone to understand one thing.. ssbb is a great game and diserves the score it got. Great cast of playable characters, great soundtrack and online play is nice however....

I feel VERY strongly that nintendo itself was not fully aware of why exaclty ssb melee was so loved and still, in teh first place. The technicality of the predecesor has been striped away from brawl almsot completley, and the pace of teh game is also noticably slower.

On a simple fun scale.... i have no problem, the game plays reletiviley similiar to melee on the surface, and when i had my firends over to play it they didnt notice anything, wich i understand, possibly a choice nintendo made intentionaly to target a wider audience.... but at the expense of the harde core competetive players? not fair imo. To all those who might comment or those who ive seen comment b4 with statmenst like " Brawl is great, everything about it is amplified from its predecesor, is soo much fun" or " man this game is everything i hoped for, im never gana play melee again.. cuase there really isnt any point to when u have a completley upgraded newer version with sonic in it!!!!" i could not be more happy for you, seriously, all that is important is that u have a great group fun game that porivides u with the satisfaction u crave, after all,in the end......

Ignorance is bliss

For those who arent aware of what im saying and/or think there are trully skilled and are going to carry that skill over to brawl, think again... please take the time to vew these videos or at least the first 2 and u will might or might not reevaluate your ability to play ss bros and relize u might not be as good as u thought, and for all the truly competetive players out there, im sure u agree with me about brawl and grats for not being in the dark

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFmGIOcWdsM&feature=related

and this match vid of actual good players going at it, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_m3gitYccuY&feature=related

again... i pretty much knew alot of these things would be taken out, simply becuase there were not "exactly" meant to be in the game in the first place (like wavedashing or L-canceling) but imo, nintendo should have payed more attention to the deep end melee gamers and embraced these technicalities and allowing them to remain, after all the average player that nintendo was also trying to target would never know about the deep tech system in the game, nor would he ever have too.. im playing brawl just because is simple and fun... and i REALLY almost wish that i was not aware of the skillful side of the series so i could simply love brawl for what it is.... unfortuantley me and many others cant enjoy it as much :(

PSp version has a noticable slowdown during spell animations

the special sword atacks performed by Cid and Meliodeul(cant rember how to spell her name) wich breaks the targets selected armor pieces were, dispite what is said to be an intentional change, always supposed to deal damage as well when the target had no armor, this was fixed in the psp version

a few exploits remained in the game when it was ported over

Blade Grasp (samurai ability) blocks ALL non spell atacks, including bullets from guns (even the magic pistols) and arrows, this was not meant to be, the archer class' abilty arrow guard was originaly the only move able to block arrow atacks at a high percentage.

Increasing a characters brave points with a mediator or ramzas cheer abilty during battle could increase the overall value if done enough times duraing a fight, this was not originaly suppose to be so as brave point value was intended to return to its original value after a fight.

Ries in human form has a passivley hidden dual wield - two sword abilty that isnt shown (possibly intended)

the calculator class in general lol. this really isnt a glitch or exploint as much as it is a poor ability balance system for this class. at max level (99) calculators could almsot always get an instant victory with the right formual. Lame

a hidden stat modifier amplifies the damage of a monk classes melee atack power by a large margin when the abilty dual wield - two swords is equiped to that character, this combo IS THEE hardest hitting pwr in the entire game. 999x2 damage with a monk level 80+. 550-600x2 damage with a knight, samuria, ninja, Dragoon at level 90+

Dispite what the port notes state, the genji armor can be obtained with the right character attempting to steal (ive done it), female cahracter with max speed atribute and the oposing zodiac affiliation...... it can be done.

I played ff11 for about a year... and in absolute honesty, the unfortunate truth is no, its not...... for an average ff fan, ff11 requires to much commitment and patients not worth the monthy fee for most.

Im not going to lie... ff11 housed some of the most spectacular mmo moments ive ever experienced and i miss is dearly, but its simply aged to much.. attempting to get into the game at this time is an increadible challange, only the hardcore fans still remain withing the games servers (mostly being japanese players, wich u share the same servers with). One great thing about ff11 is that it posses possibly the highest "quality of life" than anyother mmo on the market now, almost everyone u meet in that game is very freindly and helpfull as oposed to the crude behavior of most WoW players, a very attractive soundtrack wich are complimented by beutiful enviorments, personaly i felt rigth at home when i emersed myself into that game years back.

If u are planning on purchasing a next gen console or PC or have one already, and if u are familiar with mmorpgs and are willing to invest the time required to fully emerse urself in them, then just wait it out for SEs upcoming MMORPG in the works, i have faith it wil be succeful, seeing as ff11 came out b4 WoW, and now SE knows what a good formula for online rpgs is, observing WoWs success.

I m playing Rogue galaxy for second time and Atelier Iris 2.I just finished mass effect.. mixed feelings.

As for Lost odyssey.....FFXII ruined my turn-based sweet dream.I prefer to save money for PS3 and GTA IV.

book55
That is unbelievably unfortunate, then again it also depens on what year u started playing rpgs, especially for someone who is willing to pass up lost odyssey for GTA IV

I think it is very unfair to say that Sakuguch is all that is Square. There are a lot of talented persons, especially those who worked behind him in all his projects that is not given as much credit as he is. I never played and enjoyed all my Final Fantasy games and a lot of Square games because Sakaguchi was involved with it. I give much credit to Sakaguchi, but I think Square still has a lot of aces in their team. It's just a matter of voting power in the SE BoD... sadly, it seems the Enix faction is ruling for now.Fantasy_Gamer
I shall rephrase... the final fatansy feeling is no longer present, of coruse there are still great devs in SE..

Enix being the temporary front runner for SE is not sad at all, being that Enix still houses it original "vibe". Tri-ace has b en unafected by anything since star ocean 1 and Motio sakuraba is STILL composing the main soundtracks for them and is working on SO4 and IU... imo, Enix is the only "preserved" group still remaing in SE (or specificaly Tri-Ace) whereas i feel that a lot of the new teams in the square division feel its best to milk what sakaguchi left for them. Its like i said in the opening post, When sakaguchi left, they twisted everything up as far as final fantasy goes. Im seriously, how many damn 13s do we need, give me a break plz..

Technicaly, im a fan of Hironobu Sakaguchi, and his creative mind, not final fantasy....the title "Final Fantasy" is PURLEY cosmetic, and the two single elements that made it what we(or just me i guess) love today is no longer present in the series (sakaguchi and uematsu). Im sure many will disagree

I think FFX was the last truly amazing game to come out of the Final Fantasy franchise. Although Square has released several pretty damn good games in recent years though, for example, Dragon Quest VIII is an amazing game.

I still do miss the old Square though, maybe Final Fantasy XIII will bring back the magic. To me I feel like a lot of the magic was lost after they did Final Fantasy XI.

Its this simple....... sakaguchi left around that time, period :( and the magic with with him

Man..... i dont know if its just my age along with my taste in games.. but in all honesty almost none of the games that are on there way have any lasting appeal to me, (except last remnant and possibly 13)

pushing out games in 5s on top of most of them being fairly childish, just throws me off.

i miss the snes era of course but what i miss more is the ps1 era, when u got 1 great final fantasy game per year that u always looked forward too and in the middle of that u had great side project games that also released on average 1 or 2 a year (Parasite eve, Vagrant story, Saga Frontier ect.) This ended with ff10 sadly.

With SE pouring out new games and spin offs galore, its just become too dificult to keep up, especially since most of the titles are notoriusly targeted to youthfulls. Ask yourself... when was the last time SE released a GREAT stand alone game? or even a sequel to a STAND alone title? its been awhile... ALMOST all things on there way to being released by SE are splurged forth from the final fatansy soup. And any title that is completley apart from that world is.. u guessed it, spat out on a handheld.

I guess im to assume that the company has grown so large that they no longer are willing to gamble an independant project on a mainstream console, Last Remnant is the first in how many years? wich u can be sure to expect a spin off from it in the near future after its release, or it might even take on its own "series" format.

Is there anyone else who feels this way?
