@kasumi45 because nobody worth their shit in the FGC gives a crap about revolution on a competitive/serious level.
Ultra is a prime example of a game who knows exactly who its targeting.
I would take a new version of a beloved and still insanely popular fighting game for a measly 15 dollars over a washed out f2p featureless skeletal version of a beloved fighting game, all the while TTT2 is out and doing work.
@Alverez meanwhile, madden, cod, AC junkies are paying 60 bucks a year to play there beloved franchises, which most have far last staying power.
Anyone who actually gives a shit about this, is going to be out 15 dollars.....
fifteen
dollars...
get over it.
An update to a very consistent and still flourishing in the tournament scene, fighting game is ONLY a positive thing to all who care about it.... and if you have yet to get into the game, for 40 dollars you can purchase the complete retail version of ultra and get an amazing deal all things considered.
Nothing about this is ridiculous, and to even consider it "insane" only demonstrates your complete lack of knowledge and grotesque disregard for the subject at hand.
@Faye_Tallity that entire premise of that photo/pose was at the request of Yoshinori ono, the man responsible for bringing fighting games back into the limelight via fighting VERY hard to convince his superiors at capcom to give him the go to produce and direct a street fighter sequel ala Street fighter 4...
@sanchango @riotinto876 well im willing to bet its when the reality dawned on them that the only reason it was to be streamed in the first place was by a player vote that contributed to breast cancer research.
@Shadowsault @Tripwolf mobas in general have enough random factors when a team is not in absolute sync with one another, which is the case in 99 percent of games played in mobas. With that, there is always someone to blame since it can be so easy to loose focus.
the issue i see most often and one that i feel is true for the genre is that there are no humbling experiences to be had, every loss is your teams fault, and just by rule of thumb you are better then the next guy no question...
its the worst aspects of internet anonymity mixed with a fast pasted split second decision making where you can not possibly read the mind of your team mates in any given team fight that goes south.
@waterghost @ThreeVo again, dota 2's roster is much more varied i agree entirely. and alot of leagues champs are very similar.
COD is an unfair comparison imo.
people tend to confuse casual / simplification with streamlining and removing convoluted features that have very little return vs what they offer to any given game system.
League did not sacrifice complexity to get where it is at today.
And the difficulty curve of dota 2 is not the reason why league is more popular (im going to put my money on timing of release and marketing)
@WantYouBad @Dejanji @ThreeVo i cant stomach LoL or dota 2 anymore, i assure you i am the farthest from a fanboy of either.
i could care less about underperforming features via spec. client. ect.
2 key individuals responsible for dota on wc3 are in charge of dota 2 and lol respectively, to make mockery comments about one ripping off one another is ridiculous.
The simple fact remains that at present, DOTA2 contains systems in place that serve very little purpose other then to alienate would be new players while adding no depth.
when league was in development, one can only assume that they considered removing contrived systems to broaden the games appeal while maintaining its integrity.
the is successful regardless... there approach worked, all while maintaining fluid game progression and rewarding knowledgeable plays and players.
Dota 2 rewards knowledge absolutely but at a cost that is entirely unnecessary to begin with
