@ABEzilla116 I didn't say it was the best. I said it was the best to ME. In my opinion, Brawl was a nightmare. I like competitive games, and Brawl is inferior to Melee in that regard. Even 64 is better competitively. But the things that made Melee a superior competitive game were unintentional, which is why I don't think that there will be a better smash game in my opinion. It's not fanboyism, it's an opinion based on how I personally play smash.
To me, it doesn't matter what you do, the game won't be as good as Melee was. As a competitive smasher, I believe what made Melee such a great game was the fact that it was superior to Brawl in terms of competitive play, yet it was just as fun as Brawl if you weren't a competitive player. I think the main thing that needs to happen for the next Smash to be balanced between competitive and casual is to keep Sakurai AWAY from the game's development at all costs. Sakurai has stated his opinion that he wants a smash game that's not competitive. You know what? Just have the Project M team make the new smash, they seem to know what they're doing more than Sakurai.
For me, watching pro games is just interesting more than anything else. It's interesting to see the way pros play the game, and I sometimes learn a few interesting techniques too.
