@bigcrusha Of course you can blame them for that. THEY decide when to release games and how much effort to put into them.

Activision ruined the rhythm genre by flooding it with games because "consumers buy it every year."

Just because people buy it doesn't mean it's a good thing to do or a good thing for the industry.

@bigcrusha I'm not blaming them for being unable to port their game to a new platform in under a year. I'm blaming them for only using a year to develop a game.

"the challenges of working with new hardware made it impossible"

You mean the challenges of working with new hardware in a game you shove out once a year.

Damn, designing games properly takes time???

@DaWarthog Internet petitions have never done a single thing in the history of the internet.

Plus, THIS really shouldn't be the reason you boycott EA. There's plenty of other legitimate reasons to do so.

Spare us the slippery slope argument. What Zynga does is absolutely shameful and they should be taken to task for their despicable copy games.

This should be decided on a case by case basis. If you have to think "How many things do we need to change in our nearly identical rip off game so we can't get sued" then you SHOULDN'T BE MAKING THAT GAME AT ALL.

@skytrot That's why I said specifically that it was a new IP that sold over a million.

Only companies as terrible as Capcom wouldn't see this as an overwhelming success.

MMOs in general are failing left and right - the game type itself doesn't really work anymore. WoW is already dead, people are just too scared to stop because they are too invested in the game.

Guild Wars has bet on the multiplayer, and may very well succeed because this guarantees a near infinite amount of new experiences for players, while other MMOs (*coughTORcough*) run out of content and drive their players to boredom.

Remember this is coming from a company that went "Okami was a massive success? Better fire everyone who made it!"
