There is a solution to all of this, and it kinda falls on Valve. They should just get a small dev team going and port Direct X 10, 11, and 12 to Linux. Personally, I am not a fan of this UWP platform of Microsoft's. I think it will affect the more casual user. Not right away, but over time. And yes while we can side load programs right now, I can see Microsoft taking that option away, just like they did in Windows 8. I am very worried about all this. Will they demand that all programs go through this UWP? Right now, I'd say its 50/50. Time will tell though.

1150 bucks in Canadian, and that's before taxes! That's insane. And the Rift isn't much better at 820 dollars before taxes, controllers, ect. The price for these will kill them before the lack of content will. Does anyone know how much the Rift's controllers are going to cost?

Finally. This is why I've been holding off on playing Fallout 4. For the official mod kit. There are just some mods that require it, and people will re-write their mods for it a lot of the time. (Plus I've been enjoying Rise of the Tomb Raider, Dirt Rally, and Sleeping Dogs)

Still, even with the free games, and the controllers, its too much. That's over a grand in Canadian funds, and that's too much. Sure its first gen tech and they need to remake the money spent on developing it. But asking that kind of money means this and the rift and a lot of these oher ones are going to be for the rich. Plus, where's the killer apps for these? Job Simulator & Fantastic Contraption? It should be shipping with something like Elite Dangerous for that price. I'll take a very large pass. (Plus I think this will all be a fad, like the 3D Tv's where a few years ago)

3 - Wind Waker

4 - Links Awakening DX

5 - The Legend of Zelda

Really, only on the windows 10 store, and not on Steam. Sounds kinda silly to me. Oh, if it's good. I will get it, but I will look at Microsoft EULA for the store first and make sure I can re-download it again. make a backup of it, and put it in offsite storage. ( When I mean off site storage, I keep my Steam Backup's on a 4tb NAS which is on my network, I don't keep them on my pc). If I can't re-download it or make an easy backup of it, then I'll pass. Being direct x 12 doesn't bother me much We need new tech to push developers. But not putting it on Steam just seams kind of strange. Its where like 80-85% of the PC gaming market lies. Oh well, so long as they don't bring back Games for Windows Live. That was terrible in execution, design, and user friendliness.

@rossiko

What are you playing it on? I'm playing it on a I7 4790K and a Asus Strix 390 with 8gb of system ram (DDR 3 - 1600) and yes, I can max damn near every setting, but seriously? Where does it need another setting? it looks gorgeous on a high end box (Playing at 1920 x 1080 in case everyone's wondering about resolution, and Win 10 pro for OS)

Are you nuts? I'm playing it on a fairly high end rig, and I think it looks beautiful. Personally I think it up there with Witcher 3 graphics (Yes, I said it.)

Yeah, I have a nice big corner desk. So I have plenty of room, but I can see the point there as well for lack of space.

Yeah. you're right. That's how I should have put it. Didn't mean to offend anyone with my gamepad comments. Like I said, if ti works for you, then go for it. I'd rather have people playing it than not playing it.
