You're comparing action games to RPG games, but every time you play as someone else, it can be considered role-playing. What you're petitioning for is a game exactly like The Legend of Zelda. Long quests to save the world? Zelda. A damsel in distress? Zelda. Massive dungeons? Zelda. Enemies that can be seen on-screen with real-time combat? Zelda. This is an action-adventure game, not an RPG. There's a great little game called Alundra that can fulfill your "RPG that's more like an action game but is somehow still an RPG" tooth. :P

I also contacted EmperorZeruel, and he stated that his original post refers to combat systems, like Materia, Junctioning, and Sphere Grids, not battle systems. Now, THAT'S a discussion topic with a little more sustenance.

Hey, Emperor Zeruel, I noticed your thread on the FF Experience forums asking whether or not FF games should stick with one battle system. What did you mean by that? Were you asking, "should FF games stick with Materia/Junctioning/Sphere Grids/Overdrives"?

YEah almost every final fantasy game something changedabout the battle system should they stick to one

Right now I'm playing Final FantasyX to get all the last weapons, and to max out my parties stats.legend_cloud

Hmm, I would never do that. Just think, all of the characters can already have everyone else's abilities (except Overdrives), so if you make them all equally as strong...

It would be pretty boring to me.

And yes, I will be playing FFT! :)

Paul has been described as conservative, constitutionalist, and libertarian. He advocates a non-interventionist foreign policy, having voted against actions such as the Iraq War Resolution, but in favor of force against terrorists in Afghanistan. He favors withdrawal from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the United Nations, citing the dangers of foreign entanglements to national sovereignty. Having pledged never to raise taxes, he has long advocated ending the federal income tax and reducing government spending by abolishing most federal agencies; he favors hard money and opposes the Federal Reserve. He also opposes the Patriot Act, the federal War on Drugs, and Professor Xavier.

My god, you're right!

I just watched 2001: A Space Odyssey. I had never seen it before. What was all that experimental jazz at the end, with the fancy colors? Is it something you can only understand if you're on drugs?

Right now, I'm still playing Kingdom Hearts II. I just opened up Halloweentown for the second time.

After this, I don't know what to play. I'm in between playing Final Fantasy XII and Final Fantasy Tactics, the latter of which I've never opened. Any suggestions on which one to play first? :)

The stipulation here is that fs_metal's opinion is only valid once he plays every RPG game. From his generalizations on the genre, he's obviously never played Dragon Quest 8, Parasite Eve, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy XI, Dark Cloud, Breath of Fire V, or Grandia.

I thought we were supposed to discuss whether FF games should stick with Drawing, Desperations, or Overdrives? That's how I understood "battle system". :(

I also like the changes. I like it when a company gets creative and offers a different experience. Considering FF games are known for copious amounts of battling, it would just feel like the same game over and over if they stuck with the same battle system.

To add to that, I'd really like to see "patches" for older systems. Like, if they made FFVII for the PS3, they could release a free, updated pack with new types of Materia. Maybe release one that has another level for Underwater, for example.

I went with Zidane, Steiner, Amarant, and Dagger. I thought the final battle was way too easy. I had Auto-everything on, and beat the big N before it even touched me.

I've been a member for over a year, but I don't post that often. I was just promoted to Officer, so I'll be around more.

My favorite FF games are:

1. FFVII
2. FFVIII
3. FFX
4. FFVI
5. FFIV

If I'm in the wrong forum, could someone move it to the right one?

Why is the 8600 GT 1GB $10 less than the 8600 GT 512MB, given that it's twice the size? Should I even bee looking at 8600 series GPUs? I haven't upgraded in five years.
