@Jr14: Usefull information, but ive also read that the 500GB and 1TB models of the 850 EVO have faster sequential speeds when the turbowrite buffer is empty..

or full i should say.. :P

I have a 1TB NAS, but i also want to have the data on my computers. The NAS is more a back up for teh back up drives. I never trust 1 system, just to **** up somehow and lose all my data.. RAID might be faster raid 0 that is, but again 1 drive fucks up and i lose everything. Raid 1 ? thats what im basically doing. its just that i have 1 back up drive in each of my computers.. again if 1 computers blows somehow, all my data is still on teh other computer..

And i got an 840 evo 1TB, and it dips down .. abit.. seeing the reviews for the 850 pro, it just shovels data around without breaking a sweat.. I mean the 840 evo is great in burst, but sustained it kinda hmmeh. still better thehn hdd in speeds ofcourse..

Ive been meaning to get a 850 pro ssd to replace the 840 evo wich i have now. i will stick teh 840 evo in my HTPC. Just for speeds sake. Also right now ive got 500GB back up drives wich dip down to 20 to 50MB/s mostly.. So ive been meaning to get 2 WD black 2 TB. because my old drives are simply old, slow, and too small.

I was wondering if i missed anything and someone got something better in mind. and yes i chose HDDs because they more reliable then ssd right now.. as its for BACK UP purposes..

Well through learning/educating myself, and getting to grips with the details on the mobo settings, i just ran 4.2GHz 20 min prime stable.

Thermals are still teh same and to high, might be the thermal solution between the cores, and the IHS..

What i learned about and applied where : svid control, svid voltage override, PLL overvoltage. and before you go on google to look them up in wanting to explain things, i can do that myself :P

Still spiking 90+ C on 1.31Vcore 1.9VCCin, 1.2 cache voltage... i dont like it.. to darn hot.

I'm sure you can undervolt the PLL by a few notches...

Here's my card running at 1403Mhz and 8Ghz VRAM. Firestrike benchmark, 1st run. I flashed the card back to stock BIOS since I need to game at anything above 1400Mhz. Will benchmark at 1500Mhz when I have the time to flash again.

@pcdc650: Those are some sexy numbers! Let's see a bench score

Damn, do a bench with custom bios as well. That is damn good score. Oh and post it in the other thread.

Weeeellll right now im just running 4.0GHz with 40 Multi on the cache at adaptive voltage and the rest auto and xmp regulated. im also running the EPU and other power regulating features. if i cant get higher ill just run it more effeciently right. Im thinking of looking into skylake when it comes round.

@TDuiker: Dude, you've got the backplate on wrong!!

yeah i know, but it doesnt matter i just slapped it on and saw this when i posted the pictures. Seriously it doesnt matter, i would get the same temps even if i rotated the backplate 45 degrees :P

I personally use prime95 for strestesting, and have so for years. i never want it above 80C. it can probaly go higher, but if it goes above 80 its not worth it. and if youres atble gaming at 60C a H100i will just give youmore silent cooling, if youre into such things.. i am :P

Well one of those stupid litlle thingys buckeld eventually after i put on as5 and everything, so i was like frack it, and modded it. and yes i used the spacers from the Original; backplate. allready getting better temps, and the as5 hasent really cured yet or anything..

I also noticed just now i stuck the back on at an angle, but then it doesnt frickin matter. that just there for structual rigidity..
