It's such a tough call, but I think I have to go with The Last of Us. One of the most exhilarating games I've ever played and the story still sticks with me months later.
I never watch these attempts at "mainstreaming" video games through an awards show, because I always know how embarrassingly dumb they're going to be. Makes me miss the shows that used to be on G4 that were hosted by people that were actually passionate about the medium. Nowadays we're just stuck with awfulness like the VGX awards.
I feel bad for Geoff Keighley more than anything though. He's a respected representative of the video game industry and he's always very respectful, knowledgeable, and passionate about video games. Sucks that he had to suffer through that embarrassing excuse for an awards show.
Crazy to think that this current generation of consoles officially comes to an end tonight with the release of the Xbox One. 2005/2006 seriously still feels like it was yesterday...
I think he's being a little harsh on some of the recent Zelda games, but I'm stoked to hear him say so many good things about the new one. Can't wait to play it!
Nintendo is doomed they said. They have no good games they said.
Super Mario 3D World and A Link Between Worlds have been outscoring every single PS4 and Xbox One launch game. Now all the haters need to promptly go eat some crow.
