I hope they put CJs neighborhood in this game, so that you can go back and relive GTA: SA

@Zeeksie Mediocre: of only ordinary or moderate quality; neither good nor bad; barely adequate...I could take you seriously, if perhaps you enlightened us with what you do consider not mediocre, perhaps? What does Zeeksie "not trollin" Dudebro consider to be an excellent quality game in the same genre...please enlighten us.

@J_Dangerously I'm not buying into hype. I've played Sleeping Dogs, and unfortunately own it (/sadface). The experience doesn't come close to anything I experienced in any previous GTA game. I loved Vice City. San Andreas was good, but meh at the same time as I wasn't really a fan of some of the things they implemented, but it was still good. I really enjoyed GTA IV, and honestly don't understand why others didn't. I am going by my own personal experiences with the franchise,

I trust Rockstar to make a GTA game that I want to play...Ive played and enjoyed every iteration of the series and they haven't failed me yet. I can say with 100% positivity that I will find GTA V more fun, funnier, more well written and in general better than I thought Sleeping Dogs was. I heard about Sleeping Dogs from a friend, and I took a chance, buying it simply to quench my insatiable desire for sandbox style gameplay...alas, twas not to be here...sigh.

People keep saying that Sleeping Dogs compares to this...I just don't get how it even comes close. The radio, the writing, the graphics, the feeling of actually being in a city...Grand Theft Auto V will easily stop every other open world style game in it's tracks. There is a reason why they call them "GTA clones" after all.

@demonkingx5 Console sales are down because it's the end of the generation cycle...sales slump at the end of every generation, simply because consumers are anticipating the release of the new systems. They are holding out on purchasing, so it's harder for the game companies to separate the consumer from their money. It's really not rocket surgery. Please don't be so short sighted.

Demand decreases, so therefore sales decrease. Believe what you like, but this happened at the end of the PS2 and original Xbox cycle as well, it's just that the 360 and PS3 came out sooner, so they didn't feel it as much. These companies are holding out.

For example:

The original Xbox released on November 15, 2001

The orginal Xbox 360 released on November 16, 2005

which means that original Xbox was only on the shelves for roughly 4 years (barely) before it was made obsolete.

It is now 2012, and the new Xbox isn't projected to be out until Holiday 2013...yeah I can't imagine why sales are going to be slumping. by the time the Durango is released, the 360 will have doubled the lifespan of the original.

The same goes for the PS2 and PS3.

@demonkingx5 lol what information are you using to come to your conclusions? The reason Sega went to software only is because they were pushed out of the market by the PS2. Consumers voted with their money and the Dreamcast failed. Also what does that video have to do with the big three merging into one console conglomerate? sigh...

@demonkingx5 You explain away all the negatives by saying it's okay because you'll be saving money. This will cost you game quality and innovation in the long run. You have a very skewed perspective on the way a competitive market works. The purpose of exclusives is to attract customers to a specific console. People choose and a console that gets chosen more becomes successful. popularity and innovation regulate the market when consumers vote with their wallet. Removing choice will destabilize the gaming environment. Your opinion is short sighted and not very well thought out.

This man is on crack. One console removes CHOICE. One console means that since consumers don't have CHOICE they will be forced to buy sub par games. Developers will not be pressured to try new things and push what the console is capable of, because they know that the consumer will buy anyway. The lack of CHOICE will destroy gaming. Multiple consoles create competition, which creates a healthy market.

Also, why does this man feel that game companies need to "control gamers' play habits"?

It seems to me this person believes:

1) Consumers should have less choice

2) Consumers should have less control over how they enjoy their games.

3) (I'm reaching on this one...) A single united console would give game makers more control and make pirating and hacking more difficult. Also I'm betting said console would use some proprietary medium.

Doesn't sound like this guy is actually on the side of gamers at all, but in actuality only cares about money and reducing cost. Unfortunately Mr. Harada, creating games is a risk based market, you are investing in an IP and hope that people will buy it, and creating less choice for your customers and a limited means in which to consume your product will not make you more money. People don't like to be pigeon-holed, sir.

CHOICE IS THE FUTURE, anyone who can see their hand in front of their face knows this. Give consumers MORE CHOICE, NOT LESS

The next GTA? I wonder if it's going to have sandbox-style gameplay. or Maybe they just mean it's going to be their new top tier title similar to GTA, because GTA is also a top tier title...hmmm. All these catch phrases and lingo makes my head spin. OF COURSE they can't just come out and say what it is because of NDAs and such. Stupid legal system...
