I really don't want to call Sony right away, because I know they're probably going to tell me to just send it in. I like to fix these problems myself if at all possible. I've fixed the YLOD twice and I thought that was the only thing I had to worry about, but now this happens :(

Ya HDMI cables don't work on a SDtv. I was just stating that I don't have an issue with HDMI cables because I don't have an HDtv, because this was on of the possible problems that I read about online alot. I just typed it out weird.

Hey guys, So I'm having a major issue going on and I need your help. I turn on my PS3 and I get a black screen and well thats all I get. Now I have tried todothe holding down of the powerbutton to get the PS3 recovery menu and this dosen't work at all, trust me I've tried it like 20 times. I do not have anHDTV so its not the issue with the HDMI cables going from a HDtv back to a SDtv. So if anyone has had the same problem and fixed it or if anyone has some possible solutions then let me know. Your helpisappreciated :)

Yahoo Finance wrote about the PS3 and how its one of the worst gifts to give this season and this was why.......

"Sony PlayStation 3

It's all fun and games until the battery dies. Unlike its competitors, which use replaceable AA batteries, the PS3's remote control is glued shut. When the battery goes, Sony customers have to blow $55 on a new controller. Sony says there's an "environmental benefit" since gamers don't have to toss their batteries on a regular basis, but Isidor Buchmann, president of battery-equipment maker Cadex Electronics, says captive batteries are becoming common because it's cheaper for companies to eliminate the battery housing and hatch."

Heres the link to the full article http://customsites.yahoo.com/financiallyfit/finance/article-108318-3394-3-gifts-you-may-want-to-avoid-html?ywaad=ad0035

I thought this was the most stupid thing I had heard of so I figured I'd share it with you guys. I've had a 60gb PS3 since launch and my controllers haveyet to die. If anything I think recharging the batteries save money because you don't have to buy new batteries all the time. What do you guys think?!

Whew nevermind I gotthe update toinstall all the way now! I had read on some other forums that if something isn't hooked up correctly in your PS3 the update won't install correctly! Instantly I knew this was my problem becauseearlier tonight Ihad fixed my YLOD problem and I didn't have my Blu-Ray Disc player hooked in all the way, so IreconnectedtheBlu-Rayand presto the update installed all the way! It scared me though, I wasthinking ok so I can defeat the YLOD but its the update that does me in lol. Luckly that was not the case!

Heat Guns only run you about $20-$30 but I didn't have to pay for mine, because where I work at during they summer they had one, andthey just let me borrow theirs, which was cool. The only other thing you need to buy is thermal compound which is like $5-$10. I bought my thermal compound at Radio Shack so thats one place where you could get it.

If you don't want to repair your PS3 yourself and send it to Sony that's fine, I had to do that with my PS2 once. I was just looking for a low cost and fast way to fix my PS3 and stumbled upon this, and I was just letting others know about it because it works.

I have a launch 60gig PS3 and just the other day the poor old girl died on me. So after doing research on the YLOD I found some solutions like send it to Sony and whatever. But I eventually stumbled upon a sure fix method, that involves you to taking apart the precious PS3 and resurecting it from the grave yourself with the a little help from a heat gun and some thermal compound! So if your PS3 ever dies heres thevideo link on how to fix ithttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_Ic1_TY-GU. I did this and my PS3's running great now! It's essentially the same method used to fix 360's. So I hope this gives help and hope to others that have this problem or have this problem in the future! Happy Gaming People!!!!

I hope that some info is released on this game, I mean ANYTHING! If they say FFXIII Versus will have chocolate-chip cookies I'd still be happy, cause they mentioned something about the game. I think this game looks awesome, although we have yet to see actual gameplay.
