I'm having fun with Rome 2 but it just doesn't seem as epic as it should be, especailly after hearing about how the budget for Rome 2 was much bigger than any other Total War title to date. I was blown away by Shogun 2. Rome 2 doesn't give me that same feeling.

The biggest issue for me so far is the passive campaign AI, and I'm playing on hard difficulty. I'm not too far in my first campaign as Rome but so far it has been a breeze. Carthage was a push over and the Veneti tribe to the north seems to run in the opposite direction. My empire is still young so I hope the challenge gets better

Grim Dawn is one, but I don't think it's coming out this year. It's in Alpha so you can buy it and play that, but I think it's still far from complete. I'm waiting for the final release.

I have only completed the prologue but so far I'm liking it. I don't seem to be having these severe issues that I keep hearing about. So far the worst has been campaign map lag, battle lag, and some AI issues. I'll see what I encounter during my first real campaign.

The only thing I'm not too fond of so far are the naval battles. One time I decided to meet an enemy army at sea instead of waiting for them to attack my settlement. So I move my army out to sea and get annihilated. I reloaded and decided to wait for them to attack me on land and ended up winning a heroic victory. I guess I'm still figuring out the naval battles. It seems that it's best to just ram the shit out of anything whenever you can.

meh, there are always ai issues in a total war game so I'm not surprised. I read the PC gamer review of Rome 2 and it said that the ai issues didn't detract from the gameplay much. PC gamer did mention that the ai would get stuck on the coast during coastal defense battles when ships would drop troops on the shore. Troops would either fail to disembark or just sit on the beach and do nothing. The reviewer said he experienced only 3 incidents like that in over 50 hours gameplay. There was also the issue of small armies mindlessly attacking cities.

BOTH

I actually have yet to play any kind of Witcher game. What got me intrigued about Witcher 3, and Dragon Age 3 for that matter, was the fact that they both have huge open worlds, and I am a sucker for open world games of any kind, especailly RPGs

I hear ya SerOlmy. The story and dialogue did drag on for me as well, hency why I never finished DA:O. The open world should give you more freedom and thus alleviate that annoyance. Sometimes I just wanted to escape the story scenes and go find a fight. The combat sounds like it should be better as well if it's going to sit in between DA:O and DAII. Having to constantly pause in DA:O was a bit much.

I played the original Dragon Age but never finished it, never even glanced at DAII, but I just read a short article about Dragon Age Inquisition and I suddenly care about Dragon Age again. Some of the main highlights that got me excited were:

- Open world environments. The world wont be seamless like Skyrim but there will be a few very large territories. One of these territories is bigger than all of DA2 and thats not even the biggest region. No longer will players be funneled through one claustrophobic area after another

- No level scaling. You can wander into dangerous territory where you don't belong, but you can always return once you and your party are strong enough

- A return to tactical combat. So I've heard that DA2 was much more action oriented whereas DA:O was much more tactical. The devs are trying to place DA:I somewhere in the middle of DA:O and DA2 in terms of combat.

Thoughts?

i dont care what it is just so long as more total war games keep coming

I actaully didn't care much for Empire or Napoleon. I think the total war series works best in an age with ancient or medieval technology. A medieval 3 would be perfectly fine with me
