@myhatisbread: As nice as it is to hear this, in order to get the best gear and farm the highest content, the commitment has to be there. There is always a point where you feel like you're making good progression, and then hit a wall. You're slightly over geared for one scenario, and under geared for the next.

I remember playing this game when it came out...I was in college. I played MC for hours trying to be the first guild to take down Ragnarok on Shadowmoon. It was a lot of fun, but holy crap- the amount of time wasted on this game.... and the BG farm was pure torture. I since went to medical school and I'm a trauma surgeon now 12 years later.

I had to give up this game, but it was a lot of fun and I had a lot of good memories from it. I wish I could dedicate myself to playing it again, but I don't feel like I'd enjoy it the same by just picking it up casually.

I don't see what the big hype is all about. It's PVP with focus on teamwork and tactics unique to each character. It's the same concept that Rainbow Six Siege uses, and that's basically dead already. I see this going in the same direction. In a few weeks, everyone will have figured out the best characters, the OP builds, and it'll be posted on youtube. Then everyone will whine (in typical Blizzard fashion) and character builds will be nerfed. Rinse and repeat until next Blizzard game. No thanks.

I'm very sad this will be the last of the Witcher....but it has been a fantastic series and I'm glad I got to enjoy it. This last expansion looks amazing. The amount of DLC we got for the price tag was very fair IMO.

I'm so confused how a game with stale characters and lack of content still comes out to a 7.

@magnusstorm: I didn't think the game was worth $60, or 33% off $60 during the last steam sale. On one hand, it's an improved combat and crafting system from it's predecessor. On the other hand, it's decision/chat wheels have been dumbed down. The voice acting is hit or miss and it's not even fully voiced. In the AAA world, It's worth a 66-75% off sale in my book, whenever that may be...which is likely by the end of this year. But to each their own.

@magnusstorm: And you just contradicted the point you were trying to make. When a game like this becomes "old and cheap", it's the same game now that it will be when all the DLC is released in 1 package a year later. In fact, there's a huge benefit in waiting - it allows time to iron out all the bugs on release which is apparently the new standard of video games this era. It allows people to make mods to fix what the developers didn't implement. This isn't an MMORPG type game where everyone wants new content the day it's released so they don't fall behind their peers. It's a single player game. It goes back to my original point - it's not smart to buy games at full price, and it's certainly not smart to pre-purchase or purchase when the company plans on increasing the price post-release.

@magnusstorm: I have never seen a game release with a season pass, then have a season pass increase in price. It's stupid to support that in my opinion. That will become the new standard: release a game with season pass, hope it does well, and then increase the price post-release before ultimately driving down the prices. That's bad business. I didn't see Witcher 3 increase it's season pass price when Hearts of Stone came out, and I doubt I'll see it increase in price when Blood and Wine releases.

Here's a smarter idea: wait for the GOTY version to come out and go on sale on steam for 66% off.

I'm looking forward to his next game. It's nice to have someone as dedicated as him in the gaming community. Now he can take his own time and deliver a product that is refined. I feel like too many games nowadays is "rushed out". This is why the FF 7 remake is going to come in parts: the alternative is making 1 game under time constraints and compromising a lot of plot and side quests, ultimately ruining the experience.

@AndreasRufus: Also the game was just plain rushed and as a result was unfinished from a story standpoint...but I agree with what you're saying: there was way too much gameplay and roaming in between story. Compared to, let's say, the Witcher 3 or Fallout 4 which I felt was a nice balance between gameplay and story revelation. I think MGS: SE and MGS 4 did it right in terms of balance of gameplay and story.
