@polishkid99: Agreed, even cheapo PC's today can handle the emulator at 1080 resolution with many post processing effects that renders that game much better than this joke Sony is releasing.

@Zombrex: Right, but it looks like for those that purchased the PS2 Classics on the PS3 are also screwed over as well too. This is nothing more than a money grabbing scheme like PS Now is, it's pathetic.

@Barighm: Or better yet, a Playstation 4 Plus where it has a built in PS2 and PS3 chipset and the console would cost $500, but that means it natively supports PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4 games. I would gladly pay $500 for such a console. The same applies to an upgraded XBOX One that does the same and has a more powerful GPU. Kinda like how the N64 allowed you to upgrade the RAM of the console to play newer games like Conker's Bad Fur Day.

@demon-returns: The only exception is Steam for the PC because it doesn't matter how many times you upgrade or even build new PC's, all of your games that you ever bought are still there for you to download and play. I can still play my games I bought 10 years ago just fine on my latest gaming PC.

@thatguy2001: The PS4 isn;t a "next gen" console, it's been the "current gen" for over 2 years now. Also, it's very inferior to even a midrange PC from 2010. Nothing is next gen about the PS4. I would have gladly paid $100 more if it came with a more powerful GPU that can at least have the rendering power of a GTX 680 or AMD HD 7970, not the joke that we got with the PS4 when it can't even render 1080p 60 FPS medium quality graphics PC equivalent. The Phailstation 4 doesn't even have 20% of the rendering power that my SLI GTX 970 G1 gaming rig has, it's pathetic.

@Shinobi120: Or just download PCSX2 emulator and then you can upscale all the way to 4k or 2160p and it also supports FAR better post processing than this trash Sony is ripping off customers with.

@CASSGO93: 1080 is a thing, it's a resolution, P stands for Progressive Scan while the i in 1080i stands for Interlaced. I guess Sony's marketing never taught you to tell the difference hahahaha.

No thank you, I was hoping I can pop in my PS2 disc and then download the updated games like the XBOX One is doing with select 360 games for FREE. Also, $15 is too much for games that should be no more than $5, that's just being greedy. I'll just stick to my PS2 emulator on my PC that has far superior post processing effects and such compared to the "upscaled" only PS2 games Sony is hoping idiots would buy for the third time.

I actually feel really sorry for all PS4 owners because this affects me too. I was hoping for a similar feature as the one implemented on the One. I have many old PS2 games I would love to play again but my original PS2 has a busted laser. Instead, all PS4 owners have to buy these *ports* for the 3rd time despite one already owning the original PS2 game disk and a digital license on the PS3 because it won't transfer either.

Sony Twitter be like:

"Happy Holidays Playstation 4 owners! We hope you enjoy our gift to you with big fat twin middle fingers being slapped across your face! Enjoy "Backwards Compatibility" for a SMALL fee of $15 for each of all your PS2 games you already own......We would like to remind our cus..*suckers* that your PS3 license for the digital versions of your PS2 games will be invalid. Hey, the Holidays ain't free for our "poor" executives and Shareholders. We still love you*r* money suckers!"
