@hotwog21: Where the fock have you been this past month? Microsoft already released the Software Update for software based backwards compatibility that reads off the disk. It just only has to download the patch to function and then you only put in the disk every time afterwards and it's free too for the supported games so far. Also, more games are going to be supported as time goes on while you're stuck buying your PS2 games all over for the 3rd time hahahaha!

@oasisbeyond77: Yes, you need to be able to apply many post-processing techniques/settings to make the game better looking rather than this joke Sony is releasing only upscaled and maybe some AA improvements along the Trophies not many people care about.....

@oasisbeyond77: Not only better graphics, but also FAR cheaper on the PC too. $15 is a ripoff when it should be no more than $5 since all of those games are 2 Playstation generations old......All PS4 owners just got fleeced hard right before the holidays.....Ouch!

Sony Twitter be like:

"Happy Holidays Playstation 4 owners! We hope you enjoy our gift to you with big fat twin middle fingers being slapped across your face! Enjoy "Backwards Compatibility" for a SMALL fee of $15 for each of all your PS2 games you already own......We would like to remind our cus..*suckers* that your PS3 license for the digital versions of your PS2 games will be invalid. Hey, the Holidays ain't free for our "poor" executives and Shareholders. We still love you*r* money suckers!"

@alaskancrab: They are correct (Microsoft), it's indeed backwards compatibility via software emulation because one is simply inserting their original 360 game disk you numbnuts. Just because it has to download the recompiled game/patch at first to function on the One doesn't discount the One having true backwards compatibility because it doesn't have *Hardware* based backwards compatibility.......This is just *Software* based backwards compatibility. Microsoft also can't release all the games at once because they actually have something called "licensing agreements" with the all the gaming developers and must get their permission first for trivial things such as the background music of a menu screen for example before they can release it on the One...........This isn't me defending Microsoft like a rabid "fanboy", I'm just simply explaining the actual terminology used to describe these functions we're speaking of instead of that ignorance that falls out of your mouth. You can keep spouting your nonsense and I'll just continue laughing at you clown. Good day.

One last thing, this function is free for One users that simply insert the supported games so far unlike your *Ported* PS2 games. It's being sold for the 3rd time to you despite you owning the actual PS2 disc and a license for the PS3 digital version too......

@nastyhotpocket: How can Microsoft be just as bad as Sony when they just released true backwards compatibility for FREE!???? The list of games will also grow while your are stuck buying *ported* PS2 games when you can't use your old PS2 disk nor even the PS2 Classics one already purchased on their PS3...it's rather pathetic on Sony's part while Microsoft actually did something good and gave it to their customers for free via update to their One's.......

@Ansem_Rev: *ahem* Microsoft released true backwards compatibility for free while Sony is only releasing *ports* of PS2 games since you can't use your PS2 disk nor PS2 Classics you bought for the PS3 like the One reading the 360 disk to download the game for free........

@gotrekfabian: It's ok, I was tricked by Sony many times before such as when they took away the PS2 emulation on the PS3 (I am fortunate that I still have my original Phat 60GB PS3 I bought on launch day and with a few modifications I made, it has ran good since). The other instance being when they took away Linux support from the PS3 as well, so I had to flash a Custom Firmware to get that feature back because I loved tinkering with it.

The PS4 has been disappointing so far despite outselling the One (well, let's be honest, the One was only sold in 12 regions total for well over a year and a half until this past E3 where they sold it in a few more, but not close to the over 30 markets the PS4is sold in)...so many only had the PS4 to buy too.....Microsoft has listened to their customers and has been doing well with releasing new features and many games too.

@gotrekfabian: *ahem* ported PS2 games upscaled by the hardware of the Phailstation 4. I agree with your other points though and why can't I play my PS2 games I already bought on the PS3?????.

@Exceed20XX: It is and this version of the PS3 cost me over $600 plus tax when I first bought it all those years ago, it should had been top notch quality when a high end PC back then only cost $200 more and that's with SLI 8800 GT 512's too..... But because of the maintenance and modifications (using superior PC parts and thermal paste) and a SSD (Samsung 850 PRO 512GB), my PS3 has been running much cooler and more efficient and has been great to me after all of these years of gaming on it for the PS exclusives. Hell, I'm currently playing Final Fantasy VIII on this PS3 and it's bringing back memories when I used to have trouble playing this game but it's so easy now that I'm older and understand RPG's compared to back when this game first came out....I'm getting old. LOL
