A Great review, However I would like to point out that this particular statement is inaccurate. While the ability to choose a gender is a first for a handheld entry of the series, it is NOT the first time the feature was available in the series itself. This feature was first introduced in Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny, granted you had to play up to a certain point, however afterward you were given the option to choose between playing the remainder of the game as Arden, or Sonja each with their own set of bachelors/bachlorettes.
