i see a lot of pc fanboys below trying to come out of their holes to celebrate victory with BF3. the fact is... the difference in graphics between the pc and consoles is only noticeable when they are played next to each other. if you think i'm exaggerating go check ign's video comparison. sorry guys, no big win for you!
one has to admit that fallout on consoles looks better than on pc. there's no giong about it. a console is a specialized machine dedicated for gaming. a pc is not. pcs may be more powerful but their hardware isn't totally dedicated on the games. for example, when you load a game, the memory has to keep running windows in the background.
Gamespot is very much biased towards XBOX360. This is most evident even when they play games during the On The Spot show. If a game is released on both systems they still play the XBOX360 version. Also, they tend to give XBOX360 versions of games always that 0.1 extra rating over the PS3 version. I don't know why this happens but clearly it's only Gamespot who is like this.
I wont say Halo games are not good. They are very good. But I don't think they deserve above 9 ratings by Gamespot. Let's keep in mind that much better games such as Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater werent even given a 9 rating. And also, I didnt really expect that the difference between second and third gen platform games to be so minimal. I mean, is this all its gonna be? Just some improved graphics? Come on, I am expecting much more considering the power of the 3rd gen machines.
I got an old PSP and I will only get the slim one if mine breaks. I mean there's no big difference between the 2 models. Mainly its the video output, but who needs that when this is supposed to be a handheld?
