Ok, so I am upgrading my pc, i already have a 2 DVD bruners, a 120gb HDD (this will now serve as a backup drive), a thermaltake Tsunami Dream case, and an all-in-one card reader.

I will be adding the following parts:

PSU: Ocz stealthxstream 600w (is this strong enough?)

GPU: HIS Radeon HD 4890 1GB(Is this a good investement? When are the new cards due out? I have a radeon x850xt right now and would like to upgrade it to something a lot better)

New Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Blue 640GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor

MoBo: ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

RAM: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

Please give me your most critical responses. I will not be upgrading for a while after this initial upgrade.

the total price is:$656.96 + tax ($64.05) + S/H$10.63 =$731.64

I had edit the resolutions because my monitor wasn't recognised and was showing up in 640x480 I edited the resolutions and maximum refresh rates in for all the monitor settings. I worked fine and it stopped the annoying reverting back to 60Hz flicker that most games used to select.teddyrob
what did you use to change your settings?

How much more is the 1gb version? Is this the X2? If so, I dont think I'll need it too much. My biggest prob is finding a MoBo with eSata ports that will be as good as the one posted.

Thanks that was really helpful. Do you think the processor and card are worthwhile?

ya, I use it for my photo storage. I shoot with a Pentax K20d and K10D and each file is about 14mb, but when I render the photos they go up as high as 32mb after processing.

I already have some stuff:

Case: "Tsunami Dream" Thermaltake
Segate External 1TB Hard Drive (I do a lot of photography :), you can check my photos out http://www.flickr.com/photos/carlosrobles)
Samsung 120gb Internal HDD
Maxtor 80gb Internal HDD (IDE)
Samsung Syncmaster 906BW monitor (having problems with this monitor lately, see my other post: Monitor Problem)

This is what I need and currently am thinking about purchasing:

Mobo (This does not have eSATA ports, if you can find one with an eSATA port for my Ext. HDD thats just as good I would be very happy!)

GPU

Ram

CPU

My buddy is going to give me a PSU thats 700W, dont know the brand though.

Any and all help is appreciated!
