@skyhighgam3r: Though physical copies of games can always be found elsewhere, even if they're no longer sold in stores. Stores like Gamestop, & online.
And while it's true that digital copies of games can be copied, even those aren't a guarantee, either. If a company pulls a game from a specific store (like Steam, Nintendo Network, Xbox Live, Playstation Network, etc.) & your HDD or SSD becomes corrupted, the moment that you have to format/re-format it, boom, there goes your game & you can't ever re-download it.
It's even worse if a company shuts down a service from a console entirely, such as Xbox Live from the Original Xbox or Nintendo's service from Wii & ends up just being a plain disc system.
@PrpleTrtleBuBum: I know, but DK came way before King K. Rool did, & DK debuted in the 80's. This tournament is all about characters & stages that have debuted in the 90's, in which both King K. Rool & Diddy Kong debuted in the 90s with Donkey Kong Country.
That's why DK's not in the '90s tournament, while King K. Rool & Diddy Kong are. Besides, DK was already in the 80's tournament. Here's the full list of the tournaments by the way:

To all of the Xbox & Playstation fanboys that may be gloating about this news, don't think that this will only affect Nintendo. It'll affect both Microsoft & Sony too, especially when they have both Xbox Series X & PS5 coming out this upcoming year which will makes things worse for them than it will for Nintendo in general if the coronavirus continues to happen.
