For me it's a hybrid of No and I don't Care. I have an original 60gb model, so i'm good for all ps2 and ps1 games pretty much. However, I don't think it was a good decision at all on sony's part. I somewhat understand the reasoning, they wanted people to buy a ps3 for ps3 games as sales of those were low and I suppose on a small level they wanted to cut some cost off the systems. However, the lack of BC confused a lot of people and may have turned them off to the system.

I was really interested in this when it released on 360 and PC, but wasn't able to play it. I'll probably pick it up considering I have wanted to play it and they;ve really done a nice job for the ps3 version, building it from the ground up essentially and adding a lot of great new features. If it's $60 however, which it probably won't be considering it's a year old game, then I'll have to think a little more about it.

Well in general, the ps3 is considered one of the best and highest rated blu-ray players out there, both for quality and features such as easy upgradibility. As for special bundles, you probably won't find any for a few months as the new 80 GB Core Model is coming out in 2 weeks or so. For the holidays, they may do some special pack ins like they gave us spider man 3 last year, but otherwise nothing besides the MGS 4 Bundle.

Well personally I'm more interested in Versus, it's a new direction for the franchise and the story sounds more interesting. I suppose being an exclusive, we may get better graphical performance out of it, but we shall see.

I do agree with you, we're in sort of an exclusive rpg drought right now. The good news is, that some are starting to trickle in. later this month we have Disgaea 3 and this holiday season we have Valkyria Chronicles, both looking to be solid titles. Not to mention, TGS should reveal some information on White Knight Chronicles and perhaps new titles. Hopefully we'll be seeing quite a few rpgs pour in within the next year.

I suppose it being exclusive influences my decision slightly, as I'm always happy to support a good exclusive game, but it doesn't mean i'll buy it just because it's exclusive. There are several exclusives, good and bad that I haven't bought, simply because they didn't really appeal to me. I will be picking this one up. Maybe not on day one, but as a holiday purchase.

Yeah I'd probably sell it. I could just buy the 80 gig MGS 4 Edition which has good backwards compatibility and then pocket the $500 profit. Offer sounds too good to be true, but if it is, I'd say back up your ps3's hard drive, format it and sell it to him..

While there are plenty of excellent developers out there, my vote actually goes to Insomniac. Not only do they put out quality titles every year pretty much, they are well known for sticking to their release dates, without compromising on the game's quality. Furthermore they really keep in touch with their fans as seen by their regular podcasts as well as the many interviews Ted Price gives. Really, I find they have a special commitment to their community not many developers have, with I suppose the exception of some others listed in this thread.

It'll probably do so eventually, but as of yet there are no plans. Really, with the rumored 360 price cuts, Sony may be forced to lower it to $299 this year itself. We shall see...

I'm fairly certain all of those games support it, as I have many of them and all recent titles will support it. Personally, I found the controller quite worth it as I missed rumble in the original sixaxis. Also, for games such as MGS 4, rumble really enchances the experience, as kojima has integrated it really well in the game.
