Well, they made profits on their name as a brand. That money is the faith fans placed in them from the previous releases. They were a company gamers at least respected, I use to see them as the Bioware of old. Let them enjoy that money because they destroyed their brand and the huge trust they had from gaming fans.
@gdms25: I was thinking the same thing. Its a click bait score but I have stopped caring. I visit because I know Gamespot all my life but lets face it the power of aggregated reviews from 100s or thousands of reviewers (Meta Critic) makes these rating stuff by one person nonsense in 2021.
@bdrtfm: I said I would never buy Red Dead Redemption 2 because I hate anything such the old Western vibe or even world war 2 games. I finally bought it and it was easily one of the best games I have ever played bar none. I still was not a fan of the context but I love story. What you described are games by type and context, that is totally different. I am not against people not liking type (RPG, First person shooter, Fighting, etc) or context (world war 1, Fantasy, Medieval etc), all those make sense. Its just the bullshit judgement and opinions that can only come from playing it. You don't need to play a game to know that you don't enjoy the first person shooters genre or a medieval context, the bullshit in the comments are totally different.
The ability of people to pass scorn or judgement on something that they have not played or experienced fully whether a game or real life is a scourge to the intelligence of mankind. But these people have their uses.
A fitting quote from Mark Twain:
Let us be thankful for the fools; but for them the rest of us could not succeed.
