It's been broken for about two years now. I've made multiple threads in tech support about it, but it's never been fixed, so I gave up. Now I come back a year later and it's still the same way, so I'm asking for a fix again.

I don't know if the problem is only for large multiple thousand member unions or all of them, but The HeadCrab Union has 4,879 and every time I try to send out a telegram, it skips a majority of the people in my union. I should have 4,879 messages in my outbox, but instead I only have 916 messages. This happens every time. It may not be the same number of messages sent out. I'm not sure about that. But what happens is I'll write my message and then hit send. It will start sending out, but then it will get cut off in the middle of sending out the message and the white page cannot be displayed message pops up. It doesn't get a chance to finish the send to all the members. I've heard it happens to others too. This is a major problem, because it cuts off communication off with over 3 quarters of my union membership. I've tried two different computers and it does the same thing. I believe it has something to do with the massive amount of messages being sent out at the same time. The larger the membership, the worse it gets.

Anyway, can an admin respond and let me know if Tech Support is notified of this serious problem. I posted it here because it never gets resolved from Tech Support's forum.

I'm only here to say thank you to GameSpot for advertising a little bit more for the unions. I've noticed that you've been taking more advantage of the wideness of the site.

[QUOTE="kcwsk8"]Im talking about the people who have accounts and come one here daily. Its been stated alot on my thread on Wide that thats why people even come here anymore.Caddy06_88

You base that on one thread? That thread certainly is not the majority of people that come to GS each and every day. Sorry, but most people that come here do not come here for unions, in that thread, sure, but not on GameSpot.

As much as i support unions, even I agree that unions aren't a big reason why people come to GameSpot. It's the content. Maybe within the active community it's a big thing.

Thats low?

kcwsk8

Yes, very low when compared to the total number of users on GS. It's even low compared to active forum posters on GS at any one time.

:o  Dern.:( Ok fine, I guess we will just have to keep voting.:) ;) Wow, Ifelt alot of emotions in that statement:P. But can you give us a number? Just so we have an idea of what to aim for? Please dont say 10,000.:?

I don't think it will help when about 99% of the people that visit this site don't even know that this thread exists. It needs to be made a front page poll if they want to get a serious answer.

[QUOTE="kcwsk8"]Well as of the day the new design launches, its 600 votes for improvements.BladeMaster75

Well that is a very low number compared to the overall number of users on GS.

What kind of numbers'll be needed before it's decided that enough of the community wants union enhancements? If 600 is low, we're going to need a front page update about this to get a serious community response (or at least on the forums home).

Definitely. If you guys really want to see some realistic numbers, then it needs to be made a poll on the front page of GameSpot, but make sure you link something like the Unions: Version 2 thread, that way everybody can get an idea of the updates that could come with an update before they vote.

I highly doubt that this would be made a poll though. They haven't made a poll about whether people like the new redesign or not, so I doubt they'd do something like this.

[QUOTE="kcwsk8"]Im glad your here Sentinelrv. Having a Unions V2 supporter like you is a big step to improvements. I read the thing you posted that was deleted. It was a good post but most was oppenionated. Right now we dont need oppenions as much as we need facts. Instead of complaining why dont we agree? If you think about it the Gamespot staff is incredibly busy with the redesign, which is more important then unions right now. We need to wait till the time is right to argue about unions v2, why we should have it, and why dont we have it already. At the moment its just something to think about. It isnt something that can be done by arguing for it right now. After we have the new design, and nothing is going on, that would be the best time to start arguing for it. And when I say arguing I dont mean trolling or flaming. I simply mean try talking with admin about this. Thats all. So we need to all agree that the redesign comes first, followed by all the main things the site needs, then Unions. I hope I made this clear enough. We will get unions v2 in the future, Just after all the main, bigger things are taken care of. We should be thankful we have what we do at the moment. But yes, improvements would be real nice._Sam_
you've only been here since early this year, so you don't really know what it's been like. We were told time and time again that unions were being worked on in some sense. It was either mentioned or rumored that some update would happen after e3. (the same thing was rumored the past few years) This thread was made a little more than 2 years ago, and has gotten almost 2500 posts. As sent pointed out, now it seems like absolutely no progress has been made. It's quite obvious that there is a demand for a union redesign, but yet they still for some reason want to determine if unions should be a priority. It's true that this new site redesign is their top priority, but unless this redesign has been in place since the last one, which was in 2005 (I believe), some union changes should have been out by now.

Sam summed this up nicely, and it's also what I said in my post that was deleted at least on this thread. The demand has been there for 2 years now.

No need for this to be posted in 2 places.

Is this because you dislike what it says, or because you do believe it should only be in one place? I just want to make sure what I have to say isn't intentionally trying to be ignored, because I believe it's important the message is heard and understood.

Posting the same thing all over will get you moderated. It doesn't matter what I like or dislike. If the post breaks the ToU it gets moderated and if it doesn't then it stays.

Well, I've never been moderated for something like this ever, so it must be a new rule. I used to always notify my friends that are on different boards of info using copy and paste posts. I don't see what's wrong with doing it if you're trying to talk to two separate groups of people about the same thing. Posting something everywhere on the board for no reason is a different story though, and should be moderated, but I had a reason. Anyway, I'm going to leave this alone now.

GameSpot also did us dirty by snatching our GameSpot Endorsement from us without even contacting me about it, even when I said that we would probably still update our old union for GameSpot's members.

Caddy06_88

Sorry but what did you expect? GameSpot to keep endorsing a union that was doing nothing but announce that they are leaving the site? It only makes sense them to stop the endorsement.

Yes, I guess it does make sense why they would do it, but the way they handled it was bad. All the stuff I did for them and they didn't even have the decency to explain the situation to me. It's like a good employee telling everyone he's considering leaving the company, but before he does the company fires him just because. It was like a slap in the face for me after I did everything for them. And as I said, I was going to keep the old union here on GameSpot for all the rest of the members, so nothing was going to change here.
