Hi all, i have been using a ****** router for about 2 years. It has recently begun dropping connection alot, a common problem with ****** router's apparently, at least my model. I have purchased a
- NETGEAR DG834GT/GTB
connected it to my pc and phone line find and everything, i came to the router set up webpage type thing and sorted that out, it then claimed that it couldnt automatically find a DNS, so I ran an ipconfig and wrote the DNS in manually, applied this, tested the connection and nothing.
Strangely enough, when I apply my settings, then go to say, the Settings overview page, most of my DHCP options are left empty and obviously do not connect to the internet.
I cannot for the life of me figure out the problem, I have deactivated IPv6, nothing, ran countless checks of my IP, created a Static IP and nothing. I dont like asking for help but this problem has gone beyond me.
I have read details about a 'regedit' procedure but im not going into that until I have detailed instructions, and I dont even know if this is the problem. I expect the problem to be my Network Center only showing me to have
LOCAL ONLY connection and my IPv4 only shows Local also. I am also attempting to get this working on my PC, which is connected to my router by Ethernet Cable.
