Go for Paradise. The demo was very much misleading. Paradise is getting updates even now, Criterion are soon to be adding day/night cycles, motor bikes, new locations and trophies etc, and already includes custom in-game music. Definitely a great game.

Someone who doesn't play games very often, and doesn't really know much about what games are great or not. Someone who ignores the gaming industry, and isn't particularly good at the games they own. They don't see gaming as a hobby, just something they can do occasionally for fun.

A bit of a mish-mash description, but I think I get my point across.

I remember seing it at E3 07, and watching the stage demo from this years E3 has brung back the excitement that I originally had for the game when I heard of it. It looks really good. My only worry, is that I could see it turning out as another Timeshift, a game coming out amongst all the big releases, and turing out to just be a mediocre shooter with a gimmick that quickly wears thin. Let's hope not.

Anyone else looking forward to Fracture?

Burnout Paradise. Hasn't been underrated by the critics, but I don't think enough people own this brilliant racer.

LittleBigPlanet. Seriously can't wait for it.

Final Fantasy XIII also, if they pull it off.

Ratchet and Clank.

Uncharted is overrated in my opinion, still a good game though.

Just from the marketing I remember over the years it seems that Crash was the original mascot, GEX was a contender and for a while Lara Croft was synonymous with Playstation. Once the PS2 came out, it wasn't "necessary" for a console to have a mascot and by now, that term's largely forgotten. But I'd say Snake is probably the likeliest one now.

Let's say you had three shelves. One for each system. And along with your library of games, you had action figures to represent the system. On the Nintendo shelf clearly you'd have Mario, Zelda, even Pikachu. On the Microsoft shelf you'd have a Master Chief Figure or maybe one of the NECA Marcus Fenix figures. One the Sony shelf, maybe a Solid Snake would be the most probable. Hence I vote for Snake.

jeremiah06

Yea, but you could get a Solid Snake figure for all 3 if you put it that way.

I completely agree with you Hopewellone.

And jeremah, Nintendo and Microsoft have only one MGS game to there name, whereas Playstation have 7. It's pretty obvious that the Playstation is the home of Solid Snake, if he was going to have one.

And as for Crash, he was very successful while devoleped by Nuaghty Dog, but when they sold him off in the PS2 era, it all went down hill. Crash hasn't got the same reputation as he originally had.

Sorry, I'm arguing again, couldn't resist.

[QUOTE="SamcottsPSWii60"]I'm not trying to argue. I know Snake can't be the official Sony mascot, but if I had to choose someone, to play along with the thread, I believe Snake fit's the bill very well regardless of not being a PS3 exclusive, or even starting off on the Playstation. Many people see him as the Sony mascot, and that's enough to justify him being known as it. Official or not, even if he doesn't qualify on a logical level, atleast he is the closest to being what Masterchief and Mario are to there respective brands, to Sony.jeremiah06

Well, I stick to what I said before "everyone who has a Sony console does NOT know about Snake, while everyone with a xbox knows about Masterchief, and everyone with a Nintendo knows about Mario" and if you really think about it the only true mascots ever in a video game history has been is Mario and Sonic. End of story.

Please find me someone who owns a PS3 who doesn't know Solid Snake. Actually, just find me a gamer who doesn't know Snake, I will be very suprised if they don't, and how big of a rock are they living under?

Every person who know's about gaming, should know Snake, or atleast the MGS series.

doesnt really matter cuz he appeared on other consoles

Exactly some will know him from ps3, and some will know him from Nintendo. Trust me, Snake is not as big as you think he is, sure MGS4 was a hit, and all 3 ps2 MGS's were all great games IMO, but they were not so big. These very forms prove that. You must have been under a rock because about 40% of the post about MGS4 were post from people who either never heard of him or never played a MGS game before.

Yes, some may of not played an MGS game before, but I think everyone knows who Solid Snake is. And I think you are underrating the success of the MGS series, it is a huge game and regarded as one of the best series in the industry, and you can't argue with that.

We're going to have to agree to disagree, because my opinion will stay my opinion, and same for you.

Oh god, I don't want to sound rude, but please read all of my previous posts before making your point. It's all explained there.
