@orrytur: Yeah that should work.

iirc a 6-pin power is 150W, plus the PCIe slot itself is an additional 75W. The card requires a total of 185W at max load. Just maybe don't try to overclock it.

Just curious: how old is the PSU? It's worth getting a better one that's 80+ Gold certified. PSU is one of those things that could take other components with it if it decides to go belly-up.

What if I use 2x6 pin to 1x8 pin(instead of going with a single 6 pin to 8)? WIll that help?

Age and overall usage can affect how efficient the power supply is.

But I don't think it means certain failure.

I bought a PSU from a member here that was from 2011 and it's a 1000W Corsair PSU and it's still running fine in my computer.

If you don't know what to look for the graphical leap is not large.

But if you are aware of the technical differences then there is quite a lot to see in the gap between 2008 and 2018.

Sure you can show Crysis off but only certain sections look ok in Crysis.

The photo you showed of Crysis was a specific modded map with a certain time of day cycle locked to that map that closely resembles the original trailer shown.

I remember trying that modded map of Crysis when it was released and even with the top of the line hardware (at that time) it ran very bad.

There are plenty of spots of Crysis (even modded) that look very rough.

Also most games from 2008 look very dated compared to games of 2018.

I will agree that 1998 to 2008 was a bigger jump though when it comes to easily identifiable changes.

But that is mainly because back in 1998 3d graphical accelerators were a new thing. Most people at that time still ran 3d graphics in software mode on their CPU.

@RyviusARC: The fact that you even tried to latch onto the pop in argument when TW3 was one of the worst games for pop-in and then you deflected with the grass deforming argument shows you're a bias PC fanboy. Your word doesn't mean anything because your arguments prove you aren't objective.

You used an outdated version of TW3 from early release.

The pop in issue might be on consoles but it is not a problem on PC so your point is null.

The PC version received patches early on that solved the pop in issue that you showed from a video shortly after release.

Also patches raised the ingame settings so old ultra became the new high settings and new ultra was beyond the old game max settings increasing things like draw distance and lod.

I am not a PC fanboy since I own a PS4 Pro and have plenty of games that I enjoy on it.

I just know what the facts are.

Also you only own a low end 1060 and probably haven't even played TW3 on PC. Even if you did you couldn't enjoy it at 4k and beyond max settings with mods. You need a 1080ti or better for that.

So your opinion holds less weight than mine which has experience with both Horizon on the PS4 Pro at 4k (you don't even have a PS4 Pro so you can't even play it at 4k) and I have a 1080ti and have played The Witcher 3 at 4k beyond ingame max settings and with mods.

Not the same grass you showed in your gif which is the one I was talking about.

The one you show in the video is more brush and everything else she is running through is not interacting.

Also the pop in issue you showed is not in my modded version of The Witcher 3.

Also the video you posted of that pop in issue was from almost 4 years ago.

I think the patched version fixes that 4 year old problem of when the game was first released.

Bunch of excuses.

First of all grass deforming isn't a graphics element it's physics, moot deflection argument.

Second, modded or unmodded doesn't matter, the guy was trying to criticize a trailer for a game that's not even out for pop-in when The Witcher 3 was riddled with it and had to be patched and modded to hell before it got better.

Video I posted was 4 years ago? So what, it was RELEASED then! Days Gone doesn't even come out for a couple of months now. You guys are pathetic and making yourselves like desperate by trying to bash a game for something a game you guys praised was riddled with.

You look stupid for perusing the argument so rabidly, full stop. The argument should have been dead when I pointed out your favorite game also had the issue you're trying to nitpick. Furthermore Days Gone can get post-release patches as well since you mention post release fixes. So what the hell is the argument really?

You just killed your own argument trying to defend TW3, FAIL!

Nope TW3 still looks better.

I also own Horizon and the PS4 Pro and played it in 4k.

I also own a 1080ti and played TW3 with settings above ingame max. I bet you never played TW3 on such a PC to compare so your opinion is less valid and you probably base it on watching highly compressed outdated youtube videos that are 4 years old and at lower settings than even the current ingame max.

IIRC, she interacts with long-grass where she can hide. However, foliage and short-grass are not affected.

Yup but not all the other stuff.

Oh and for that guy here is a picture I took of my game next to my PS4 Pro.

I've got a PC with a 1080ti and a PS4 Pro all the way down to a 3DS.

I love nice visuals and performance which my PC gives me but I don't mind lower quality visuals and performance if the game is still enjoyable.

For example going from The Witcher 3 on consoles to PC is a huge difference.

But then you play a console exclusives like Horizon Zero Dawn and it makes those, "lower quality visual" arguments made by PC fan seem dumb and irrelevant.

lol at people still using TW3 as an example of impressive graphics.

TW3 still looks better. BTW you are using a heavily compressed low res gif.

My screenshot still is higher visual fidelity than Horizon's.

You can see that she doesn't even interact with the grass or water.

Also things like draw distance and LOD are worse.

The PS4 Pro couldn't even run TW3 at the settings and mods I have on my computer. It would not even boot.

And btw I own Horizon and a PS4 Pro so I have it right in front of my face to judge.

Just because you are a fan of Richard Dawkins doesn't make you hateful of Christians.

I am a fan of Richard Dawkins, more so of his earlier works on evolution.

But I don't hate Christians. Although I do think the "literal" interpretation of the bible is nonsense.

If Randy did do those things then he should reap what he sowed.

You shouldn't bring religious talk into the work place. And even then you can have a civil discussion even if you disagree with someone.
