If you like strategic combat, go with the 1st one. If you like lots of action, the second one is right for you.
1st one is about 30 if you try and find all the secrets, but it will be about 70-80 to try and level up enough to kill Sephiroth.
2nd one is about 50 hours if you try and find all the secrets, but it's way easier to level up in the second pne so I reckon it would only be 60 hours to level up enough to kill Sephiroth.
You can name all of the charaters in your party except for the charaters you pick up in quests. As for Ingus, you must go into the first castle available for you to go to. Talk to the yellow outline guy in the throne, he'll stick Ingus on you.
