@NeonicTrash:

So you're saying the Scorpio has no great exclusives, just all the old Xbox One games with slightly better graphics. Every game on the Scorpio is also on the Xbox One. I just started reading about the Scorpio after seeing your post, and was disappointed that it's just a hardware update of the Xbox One and not a new console, essentially just an "Xbox One Point Five".

Xbox hasn't exactly been the king of backwards compatibility itself, so using that as a knock against the Switch seems a bit blind. Microsoft has to patch in support for games regularly, while the Switch will use the Virtual Console that the previous 2 Nintendo consoles used. They seem about even on backwards compatibility.

Did the Xbox One have a lot of launch titles? Your stated 12 for Switch's launch seems pretty good, compared to the usual 2-3 games at a console's launch. I remember back when the 360 came out with just Kameo: Elements of Power and Perfect Dark Zero. Paltry launches are nothing new, and hardly Nintendo-specific. At least one of their few launch titles ended up being amazing, so that's a good start compared to the usual cash-in launch titles you see for all consoles.

Boasting that the big perk of the Scorpio is just better graphics for the existing games does sound a little shallow, like all you care about is graphics.

That "I don't play Zelda so the Switch having one of the best games of all time doesn't count" thing is weak too. I don't care about any of the Scorpio's titles so it doesn't have anything good either. Does that sound right? Can I use that same logic to discount everything about the Scorpio like you did for the Switch?

I don't really have an opinion on the Scorpio, but I'm loving the Switch, or at least "Breath of the Wild" on the Switch. It's the first console I've gotten since I was a kid, some 20 years ago, and it was solely for Zelda, which is well worth the year of hype I had for it since its E3 2016 debut.

Civ 5's tutorial is very basic. It's more of a crash course game. Play the tutorial, then start on Settler difficulty and explore from there. On Settler, Barbarians can't enter your territory and other civs can't declare war on you, leaving you free to get around to war on your own terms. You also get happiness bonuses on lower difficulties. You'll get the hang of it in no time.

Remember Mirror's Edge? Made by DICE, published by EA. Also experimental as hell and had only a single DLC and was a recent cult classic. That game grants EA an infinite pass for me.

Played TOR? Read the Revan novel? Revan novel+TOR's Jedi Knight story IS KotOR3. Star Wars is an expanded universe where all things are canon and connected to each other. You can't just have games override other games. What happened in the Revan novel happened, and if you want a KotOR3 you'd have to have it fit within the framework of that novel and TOR's story.

If you're okay with Revan+TOR being overridden, then you'd have to be okay with other Star Wars works overriding KotOR too, just for consistency.

I'm a big Star Wars fan, all parts of Star Wars are "real" for me, even the parts I don't love. If I can handle the Jedi Prince books, with their 3-eyed son of Palpatine and Grand Moff Hissa's plot to kill the Whaladons, I can handle anything.

I do like how the NRA took a week to comment on the shooting and then finally came out and used the old violent videogames standby. Nope, guns had no part in the shooting, not at all. It was Bulletstorm. Bulletstorm caused this shooting.

Am I the only one starting to get tired of the word "streamline" being used for "we fired a lot of people"? If streamlining is so great, why does no company do it when they're on top of the world? They're starting to demean the use of the word streamline by using it in place of firing.

Don't act like EA is the sole villain here. These companies accept EA's money to be bought and owned by EA. These companies could easily refuse the money, especially if they're a powerhouse like BioWare.

Like I said below, if you make a deal with the devil despite knowing it's the devil, it's your fault for making the deal.

Haven't they had a working server for years? An MMO emulator without a playable server doesn't really count as an MMO emulator I would think.
