In case anyone didn't already know, if you felt similarities between Deathstroke and Deadpool from Marvel, that's because Deadpool was created about 10 years after Deathstroke by artist Rob Liefeld and writer Fabian Nicieza. Liefeld was a big fan of Teen Titans, and when Nicieza first saw Deadpool on paper, he said "This is Deathstroke from Teen Titans." He took it one step further and named Deadpool Wade Wilson, after Deathstroke's Slade Wilson, as an in-joke.
Until I saw Deathstroke would appear in the new game, I had never heard of him because I don't follow DC. When I saw the similarities in the name and the look immediately my mind goes "Deathstroke is just a complete rip-off of Deadpool, DC just needed a ninja.." but before I discussed this heated opinion with anyone, I educated myself so I could have an informed opinion, and realized Deadpool is a self-admitted rip-off of Deathstroke. Imagine if most human beings did a little research like this before going on their dumb ass rants based on hearsay and popularity.. wouldn't THAT be neat?
Okay, being the "best reviewer" on this site, and respecting gender roles does not mean that Carolyn Petit does not look absolutely ridiculous. She does. You have the people who are automatically going to be like WTF because they haven't yet seen her, you have the people who are going to defend her because she's a decent person regardless of her gender issues, and you have people like me who are bored with the both of you. The fact is this, if you're going to live as a woman, and you look like a man with long hair doing a high pitched voice, you're going to get shit for it. Forever. That's our world.
Carolyn looks like a dude wearing a Halloween costume from Savers and you all know it. You want to hear REAL harsh? Take Carolyn in front of a real drag queen. They idolize Joan Rivers. You think homophobic people are mean? The queens would tear this dude apart. Keep it real. I respect gender identification roles but I couldn't walk up with a full beard with it hanging, tell everybody I'm a woman, and expect acceptance and respect. Step your femininity game up, Carolyn.
@CWZaft @Regression Yeah I was talking about the shitty Facebook game because that's an AMC property. Telltale WD was awesome. I shouldn't expect much out of a FB game but it was terrible even by those standards.
I'm interested in Kirkman's perception of this cash-in. So far there have been two really shitty games based on the TV show license, which were to be expected but I'm wondering how much quality control he had. Considering AMC's track record with quality programming, I'm surprised they wouldn't invest at least some time in the games. Guess they don't care. It's a shame how much better it could have been.
Finally I understand why they've worked for so long to improve the technology of graphic engines in games. If ever we wanted anything in our lives, it was to see a sharp, crisp close up of Willem Dafoe's disgusting goblin-like face. Years and years of us all wishing, watching, yearning.. knowing film could never truly capture that essence.. and finally our patience paid off. When the history of video games is charted, this will be marked as it's highest point.
So I ask all of you now: What will we do with the rest of our lives, now that we've clearly peaked with HD digitized Willem Dafoe?
Interesting. Connor gains the power of invisibility because he's tripping balls. In actuality, he's probably just running around naked or smeared in his own feces talking jibberish and it's not that they don't see him, they just don't perceive him as a threat, per say.
Depressing. I thought finally, the setting of Aliens and a well made game on the franchise. I thought because of the passion of the developers and their love for the movies they would finally do it justice. Nope, fucked over again! That means at least another 2-3 years before someone starts another attempt. What is the glass half full on that? I saved money? When the hell do we get a decent Aliens/Predator anything? The lost potential on these franchises is heartbreaking. Somebody save them, PLEASE!!
@nathangray @Regression I see your point but my thing is that regardless of the way he conducted himself in those instances, I'm not going to just write him off completely and let it keep me from playing great games that are only partially his doing and mostly a lot of talented people working towards something. I read pages and pages and pages of for and against arguments and did my homework when the whole thing went down, and I came to the conclusion that I don't think Casey Hudson is a scumbag. I think he was in a difficult position and he made the wrong choices, paid for those choices, and most likely learned from it. We'll see. Or... I'll see. You people refuse to play Bioware games now.. lol.
