I was disgusted at first with the new site and still haven't fully adjusted too or found everything as 'convenient' as before BUT I am finding what I have found to be as good as, if not better than, the old site. The new GameSpot is just like a new game you start playing with no documentation--you have plenty of questions and problems to ask but you don't initially know where to ask or find the answers. You curse it...you sleep on it...you keep trying...and slowly but surely things start making sense.

Last week I would never have written this and if I had found this poll question would have easily selected "The new GameSpot layout sucks and I'm hoping for an option to switch back to the former layout." Instead today I selected "I still use GameSpot for gaming news and forums." I don't use GameSpot exclusively nor do I use it for much else then gaming reviews and forums, and I have feedback on how I would like to see the game filter expanded on. Maybe that is the sort of thing this new makeover will allow?

@the_ChEeSe_mAn2: Agree wholeheartedly. My gosh Canada--don't do it. You'll get your own chance some day to "go to hell in a hand-basket". You don't need to speed up the inevitable process any.

This forum Title should be renamed 'Site Enhancements, Bugs, and Feedback' I think.

Okay, how about some on-your-feet thoughts about LP3 now that it is released?  For me you can focus on SP and skip MP stuff if you like.  I'm assuming the previous poster meant LP2 and not LP3 since the later had not been played yet.  It disturbs me no end that GameSpot's review was so low at 5.0 yet the video reviewer cannot justify this low score in his comments.  The game sounds more like a 7.0 to me.

[Wow, no one is playing or commenting on LP3--that's a bad sign for something that was just released the end of August.]

The video review says it is a prequel--before.

Just finished LP2 and played LP Extreme Conditions years ago.  Thought 2 had to much 'shoot 'em up' in it and the final boss battle was bizarre.  I'm wondering if I shouldn't just be done with the series and skip 3 (when its price falls below $20 some time from now)?

I'm wondering on its own merits (if EC and 2 didn't exist) if LP3 would have scored a lot better then a 5.0 from GameSpot?  I listened to the review and didn't think the reviewer justified the low score...  It sounded like the fighting wasn't as intense and that there was more story throughout gameplay.  This would interest me more since I'm a SP gamer only and play only one time through to get all I can get out of a game.

What do you think?  Should I keep it on the list and wait or draw a line through the title and be done with the series--like I have with Assassin's Creed III, Halo 4, and Prototype 2?  Thanks.

The Fireflies created the virus which caused the zombie outbreak but all they needed was a fresh bone marrow sample from a healthy human to create an immunity vaccination. Why exactly did Joe protect Ella if all he needed to do was get to Nevada, do they not have planes in this post-apocalyptic world ? Also, why did Joe kill David when he helped him get to Colorado ? It just seemed out of character for such a likeable guy.TheGameExpert01
** Spoilers **

It is hard to believe you have messed so much up, but I won't call you a troll for it--I don't like being called a troll either.  I don't think you should read the answers below...  Instead start playing or re-playing the whole game from the beginning and make every effort to pick up and study all the collectibles in the SP game.

The Fireflies did not create the infection.  This infection is not a virus...it is a type of fungus.  Bone marrow is not an option because the object is not to find a cure for those infected but to find a 'vaccine' for those who are not yet infected--approx. 40% of the remaining population world-wide.  Ellie is immune but no one knows why.  Twenty years after the infection with 60% of the human population around the world infected, dead, or dying _everything_ is scare including fuel for aircraft and trains...at least in the areas Joel and Ellie travel through and you don't see or hear one aircraft in the sky.  Nevada?  Where did that come from?  Joel is protecting Ellie because she unconsciously reminds him of his daughter Sarah who dies at the very start of the adventure.  Ellie is protecting Joel because (perhaps and rightfully so?) she is a smart teenager who knows she can't survive on her own and is likely drawn to him as the parent she never had--she knows about Joel's loss of Sarah.  Okay...what's left?  Joel does not kill David--Ellie kills (I think sooo...:P) David.  David is very likely the most hated character Joel and Ellie (and myself included) come across in the entire game.  Some other characters you need to learn of: Tess, Marlene, Bill, Henry, and Sam, Tommy and Marie, and Ish and Susan.  Good luck!

P.S.  Please take your time replaying this game.  I've played it twice now on Easy and Easy+ in order to get all of the SP (single player) trophies.  I am a very slow adventurer and the story always counts more then the fighting.  I took around 40 hours to finish the game the first time which is as near as I can tell unheard of for this game.  The point is you have misunderstood so much it is no wonder you are so confused about everything.

What sort of an idiot would put a *spoiler tag and then put the spoiler right in the title. This needs to stop.fanirama

It's called disinformation...  Tess wasn't Sarah's mom--Susan, who was last with Ish is.  She and Ish are at Tommy's place and in the SP DLC due out later this month she is going to beat the 'sh--' out of Joel and kill him in his sleep for not protecting Sarah and then adopt Ellie.  I wonder in their day and age if there is any judicial system?  Any paperwork or licenses to legally adopt or get married?
