It was probably just somebody raging. Some PC elitists think consoles are synonymous with potatos. :|Kman5507

I consider myself a PC elitist but a polite one.

I heard they made the pc version like it was the beta for a console version from somewhere.Kman5507

I highly doubt that. If that is true it was one heck of a polished beta.

I don't think it was terribly expensive. It may have been about $40, but that was more than I was willing to spend at the time.

You have to remember, console gamers have to pay about $20 more than PC gamers :P

That's about right, right? PC games are $40?

Kman5507

Alpha Protocol was $50 at launch, I had it on preorder. Most PC games are $50 although a good chunk are $40. A few are $60 but those are usually from EA, Ubisoft,  and Activision.

I will say though that Portal is very short. It's more like a test. Portal 2 is more of a full game if that makes sense.:P

bugbag

I liked that Portal wasn't very long. I beat it in six hours and it felt right. I think I would of gotten bored if it were longer than 10 hours.

Nothing does anymore.

I think there is still a lot of innovation on the gaming industry. A lot of cool ideas are coming soon too.:P

I think there iss till a decent amount of innovation but the majority happens on the indie scene. AAA games seem to innovate very little. Too many publishers are too worried about what shareholders will think and not enough about what the gamers who buy their game will think. Most people with any real say so in gaming these days don't even play games.

[QUOTE="Kman5507"]I thought aout getting Alpha protocal once... then I found out the price. :PShadowofSonic

How much? :P

I ma be missing out on a joke but the price isn't much, at least not on PC. It is $15 on Steam and is on for $5-10 when it is on sale. maybe it costs a lot more on console or I'm missing a joke.

I know what you mean, and Crysis is a good example.bugbag

I agree Crysis is a great example. Another would be F.E.A.R., once it went multiplatform it started a real downward spiral for the franchise. F.E.3.R. was a terrible game that I couldn't even get through.

I have yet to play LA Noire. I want to though. :PShadowofSonic

It's not a bad game. The PC port was a pretty bad but the game itself was fun.

Depends on how buggy or unambitious. If the game is ambitious but it's unplayabale turd then I'll pass.

As for me I'd rather play Alpha Protocol(love the spy RPG theme and the way the story plays out/characters are written but the game is unpolished) than another Call of Duty. But I'd much rather play a Dynasty Warriors game(mostly same game with few updates each year) than Unlimited Saga(it's really different and has some good ideas but damn it was not done well).

Eikichi-Onizuka

Wow it is not every day I find a fellow fan of Alpha Protocol. I salute you. Loved that game.

My 98 could run Fallout.

While my computer could probably run Thief, I've had some terrible luck with computers: And am absolutely paranoid with anything I put into my PC. My whole idea now is, if it's running fine, leave it how it is.:P

I'm happy the new one is coming to consoles.:D

bugbag

It always worries me when franchises that were born on PC make their way to the consoles because usually the changes that get made to them are not something the original fans will like. Already the developers have made mention of appealing to a wider audience with this new Thief game. I am not saying it's doomed to be a bad game but I am worried for it.
