I stopped at the Darkest dungeons. Ridiculously too hard and made to make you grind and grind more heroes up to level 6 with good trinkets. No thank you. The game was perfect without the Darkest dugeons that took forever to come out.
This project is unfortunately a victim of its own nature; it is a niche within an even smaller niche. It's a) an storytelling experience delievered through art which b) features an infant that dies from cancer... obviously, this was never meant to appeal to everyone. When we choose to ignore the clueless tweens that lack either class, culture or both who complain that this is a bad "game", we are left with people that ask themselves: do I want to live this experience and if so, for how much? For me, I can't stand thinking of children dying slowly and there is no way I would pay 15$ for that experience; maybe 5$ (the price of a movie rental), but even then, I would have to want to make myself suffer. I don't watch other people play games; I find playing games much better. But I must admit that in this case of this particular "game" I could maybe venture into watching a couple of scenes until I could no longer bare it and save myself 15$ since "playing" the game is not really what people are paying for. More power to people who enjoy these fringe experiences, I'm just not sold on the concept as of yet. Maybe VR will change this type of storytelling game?
