How sad is it that the Wii U even needs a comprehensive comparison to cell phones processors?

The Wii U is an overpriced toy for young children and Chubbyguy. Anyone else paying $350 for it deserves to save the princess for the fotryfifth time at 20 FPS...

More kids that I know own 360's. And how is it that playing video games on a certain system makes you cool while playing video games on another makes you childish? This kind of bro gamer logic never made sense to me.

For those choosing to wait later to get one for whatever reasons (like Bayonneta 2, Pikmin 3, or Wonderful 101) I just remember what a pain it was finding a Wii when I started looking (about 6 months or more after launch). I was in a big city and it was not easy. So this time I am just saving myself the hassle and having one shipped to my house. Will the real "big" games come out later? Of course. But I am not going through that trouble again.

And besides that I am looking forward to ZombiU. While the graphics might not be mindblowing or anything, just how the game works (permadeath) makes it sound pretty fun to me. That alone plus some multiplats that might offer a different of enough experience from PS3/360 (being able to play on the gamepad when my girlfriend wants to use the tv, local multiplayer with 2 screens, and whatever else developers make use of), just might also be something to think about for people who own all the current gen systems.

If anything I'll just be getting New Super Mario Bros. U, Tekken Tag 2 and Assassin's Creed 3 with Nintendo Land.

LegatoSkyheart

I have ZombiU (and Nintendo Land via deluxe console) preordered. After that I will probably pick up AC3, Tekken Tag, or BLOPS 2.

Personally I would like to see nintendo do well but they are so far behind I can't see spendng money on a console that will collect dust and can't even be used as a media server or just to play blu-ray's. Pretty sure MS and Sony have next gen systems in the wings I have to see what going on there first. I want the most bang for my buck and clearly nintendo is way behind on the value curve. They don't even have that big game to get me in the door or a 250 buck or under price this time. This could be it for nintendo as a console maker.

The doom and gloom sounds familiar.

This could be it for consoles in general as cell phones are taking over for all media even games. For a console to last it has to do more than just play games it needs to be a media hub.

Well there is TVii. Not sure how all of that will work out though. Either way I don't think consoles in general will be going anywhere soon. More people play games than ever before.

What's everyone getting at launch? I'm getting: Wii U Deluxe Assassin's Creed III New Super Mario Bros. U. I'm kind of debating whether or not to get Black Ops II. I sort of want a FPS.Haziqonfire

Wii U Deluxe console, ZombiU, Black Pro Controller, and a Basic Set just in case.;)

Oh, and ACIII will probably be the 2nd game I get shortly after launch.

Nintendo just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an a**hole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the japanese public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase a Wii U, nor will they purchase any of Nintendo's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Nintendo has alienated an entire market with this move.

Nintendo, publicly apologize and cancel the Wii U or you can kiss your business goodbye.

Haziqonfire

Well played. ;)
